hi guys, just found out that one thing point-and-shoot digital camera is better than DSLR is that ...

DSLR totally disabled and cannot be used when the lenses are foggy caused by going to high humid areas after exposing to air-con....just like ur car's windscreen getting foggy when u off the aircon when raining...

once the ur lenses get foggy, its the end for the trip and have to dry it in the dry box for at least 1 day !

and the pain is watching other people with compact digital cam playing around hahah =.=
*
that why is there is the advice of never taking out your camera immediately when moving from a cold to hot place or vice versa.
same applies for items made of wood like snooker cues or guitars.
leave it in the bag / case for at least 10mins for it to settle down then only take out.

for point n shoot its what you dont see that may kill it, who knows moisture may have formed in the circuit board inside the camera?

Not sure still in working condition or not

i notice earlier u talked about why should u drop from iso3200 to iso100/200 at the expense of shutter speed...
but from your exif, you could also have opened up your aperture to 5.6 instead of 8 while maintaining same shutter...and also be able to shoot at iso1600...or even double your shutter speed if u prefer.

maybe iso3200 may look like no noise, but sometimes its not the noise, but the loss of detail at higher iso.

higher ISO will make you loss the detail of the picture? hmm.gif
I compare it side by side in my computer however i couldn't notice any difference.
yea it will.
u can even go check all the iso shoots they do on dpreview and see the results with any camera review.

oh well, my hands got itchy so i went and modded my DK-21M.

after removing the top DK-16 rubber ring, left with the actual DK-21M.
Attached Image

here it is combined with the D7000 ori eyepiece.

now i have the minor magnification, better comfort, and more distance between nose and LCD tongue.gif

where and how much it costs?

Technically don't mind me asking , whats the best street price I could get for D700 in penang now a days? And does it comes with an extra battery? Thats what I heard though. D700 is still a good buy right? pairing it up with 50mm ..

Does anyone recommend lenses like 24-85 or 24-120? Or would it be better to save up for siggy s 24-70?
*
or u can find older 28-70 for cheaper.

Some example of sharper focus spot on pics, I confirm ur camera got back focus prob! Get it check up, the 1st pic is unacceptable soft for the flower, or is your hand too shaky?
nothing in the back is in focus either, so how can it be back focus? tongue.gif
i would say its a false positive in the focus since there isnt enough contrast or he moved too close to the flower that the lens cannot focus.

Opps... I wanted to say front focus, if cannot lock focus, u can't event hit the shutter to take the pic la bro.....
*
im surprised ur saying that since u also own a D7000, which i guess means u never really explored ur camera properly.
there is a option in menu for af-c and af-s autofocus to either shoot even tho its not in focus.

anyone have this issue?
sometimes the camera viewfinder will show AE-L is on, even tho i never press the button.
when i press the AE-L button its set to turn it off, it wont go off either.
and when this happens i can hear the mirror somewhat flipping up / down...i also obviously cannot fire my shutter when this happens.
also happens for a few secs only and its random...so no idea whats causing it...have to wait for nikon reply which i doubt i will get tongue.gif

Thanks for the input bro. I myself thinking to get 1870 because it's zoom longer but knowing sigma ain't bad as well makes me doubtful. haha
anyway I've decided and talk to the seller to confirm buy 1870.  tongue.gif
hopefully I wouldn't regret
I tried it once in futoromic.
tamron 1750 <- but only test test a while
does constant aperture affect IQ?
actually due to a lot of problem I think I better skip tamron 1750. and currently having 1870 nikkor and 1850 sigma as my consideration.
I do feel my kit 1855 is too short hence I am looking for 1870. however knowing some1 selling 1850 siggy for 1.2k make me confuse about which one should I choose.

1870 Nikkor
or 1850 siggy + 55-200/55-300 nikkor. hmm.gif
*
i go 18-70, since its a nikon tongue.gif
f/2.8 to f/3.5 is only 0.67 stop difference, while 18-70 at 50mm is f/4.5, which is 1.3 stops difference to f/2.8, not really missing that much.

if u can afford the 55-300, and not many are selling it used so most likely buy brand new around rm1.1k...
why not top up rm300+ more get a used 70-300 VR?
18-70 now also around rm600 anyway, so balance from the proposed sigma can add on get better telephoto...maybe can even stretch to the 80-200 push pull tongue.gif

ah its really hard to sell of a kitty lens... still cant get a serious buyer in this week... =(
*
Its easy to sell if ur not looking at making a 'profit' / cutting loss.
put it at rm600-650 and it will sell fast...
So at that price obviously means u pay abit more for body only...
but better than having it lying around forever unused.
too many selling at rm750 or more and they are still trying to sell even after few months.

for spot metering? tongue.gif

anyway, if a person's hand is shaking so much...no amount of VR also gonna help them.
VR is not a substitute for bad technique.
but VR enhances good technique tongue.gif

i would guess any flash on a d3100 would feel unbalanced, even sb600 since even the di622 makes it feel unbalanced tongue.gif

nikon berjaya times square sensor cleaning how much? hmm.gif
wan clean my D70s sensor. got dust or something stick on it and cannot blow it off. unsure.gif
*
rm20 if still under warranty, else rm60 or so.

my d7000 also cannot blow off, i google and seems to be a oil splatter issue from the mechanism or something.
when i check my sensor i can see lots of little dots, never noticed before cos i hardly shoot at f/8 and higher.

by the way how to shoot the photo to spot the stain/spot / dirty things on sensor? hmm.gif

my D70s already pass warranty long time ago...maybe.... i bought for 5 years? but shutter count is less than 10k tongue.gif
*
shoot at high aperture...f/11 and above.
put to manual focus and simply shoot at a white wall.

If can't wait then no choice pay for it smile.gif

I usually have the habbit of blowing my sensor whenever I store my gears, so far so good smile.gif. D90 1 year+ but no issue of dust on sensor hehe.
*
only prob is my case is not dust.
when i look at sensor looks like small droplets on it, if u see the links i posted just now u see got others complain also.
some say its the oil from the shutter mechanism that splashed on it, perhaps nikon using thinner grade oil or something.

to which lens you guys attach CPL? and ND? UWA lens?
*
i only put UV filter on my normal zoom lens, telephoto i leave it alone.
i got CPL also but only for my 35mm/1.8 cos i had it for a long time, and lazy to buy 67mm or 77mm CPL biggrin.gif
