7 years need to change piston ring? Any source to support this?

No need source to support what I claim. I'm based on logic, every car got wear & tear even luxury car also facing it, for >7 years daily use.. combustion will not same as one day old car. maybe petrol not properly burn (fully burn) or only burn 70-80% due to leak compression in combustion chamber. If you want to maintain car performance for >7years.. that what you should do. Don't wait until smoke turn out, car breakdown & etc just to save money..

I also see people comment on Fuel Injector, if based on logic.. if carbon build ups on the injection heads which mean Injector hole has been block by carbon. Can Fuel/Petrol enter more than usual....

Anyway, what are the remedies for this kind of problem? Go for engine tune-up? I am not sure if any mechanic has the specialised equipment to do tune-up for proton cars other than Authorised Proton workshop

Like I mentioned in my previous post, the problem lies on the Catalytic Converter. All car should smells the same after they replace the Catalytic Converter with a bullet or midbox which both of them function act as a resonator instead of reducing toxic in emissions.

Even buddy "acbc" mentioned that his ride got strong petrol fumes after decat, even my ride aswell. If you're an environmental friendly guy, you should put back the catalytic converter but bear in mind you might lose out some performance as the catalytic converter is pretty restrictive.

Old saga yes, rm12 and still got balance... But Wira is rm60-70 + installations... Even if I change on time, I still need to put injection cleaner.... As it still get partial blocked.... I always record down my FC each top up, so I can tell when I need to pour in(either strong smell or bad FC)....

Old saga rm5 only( plastic) oil filter. Wira rm12(steel).
Rm60 too much, that foreman might con you kaw2. Change it also very easy like abc.

Like i sai before, what is the functin of this catalytic converter? Yes, emission control system. Emission only to filter sox, nox and co. I dont think this 3 thibg smell like a petrol. My 2 cents. Go for pdt first, cek the a/f, tps, tb signal and etc. Dont go at proton sc centre of cos it wil charge u kaw2. Go for the reputable foreman that have pdt/mut/obd2 equipment. Rm20- rm30 only.

Sorry to say that but you're replying and quoting my replies like a retard. You ask what's the function of Catalytic Converter, yet you know it's for emission control. You ask people check this check that but at last you say if problem still persist it might caused by Catalytic Converter, so what's your point of reply?

Mind if I ask did you remove your car catalytic converter before?

^^Angry liao.... Anyway, strong smell on Proton cars, the best still pour in a bottle fuel injection cleaner as no need to get foreman to check, not that expensive and easy....

i want to explain the function to u.. u said that the fuel smell because of catalytic converter.. i want to ask u question fuel smell = sox,nox and CO ?
i just suggesting.. remove the catalytic converter and put it back is not cheap bro.. + you dont know it is really caused by it.. notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

no arguement.. no one right and no one wrong.... this is just an opinion... newbies opinion from ex proton eng.
