I have been having this problem since I changed my middle exhaust part together with the bullet cause bocor. The exhaust fume smells heavy of unburnt petrol and it does not go away even after the engine has warmed up.

Anyone can recommend me any shop to adjust the A/F in Ipoh,perak

waja can adjust A/F ?? , i think remap only can.

Some sensor faulty... O2 sensor for example...

This engine make Mitsubishi leave Proton last time.. don't get full QC approval..

I think your car more that 7 years old oledi, now it right time to change piston ring.. last time U did not smell unburn fuel maybe coz old exhaust have a lot carbon inside.

check engine tuning...
might need to do top engine overhaul...

Since you said that you change your exhaust before, I suspect that the fella already take out your Catalytic Converter and replace it with a bullet. Maybe you can pay the exhaust shop a visit again and ask them about it?

that was the first thing that came to my mind. Cause I noticed some improvement to my pick up. Was adviced by my mech to decat my car cause he says will improve low end pickup.Anyway,did not follow his advice when I went to fix my exhaust that time

Reduce toxicity means sulphur right and carbon monoxide. If u smell like a petrol i dont think iy was caused by that. Most probably u need to sent to mech i check obd2 for a/f to findout ur engine running stoic or rich. My 2 cents

7 years need to change piston ring? Any source to support this?

Got strong petrol smell during cold start are normal, but after fully warm up and still got smell, something not that right... Pour a bottle of fuel injection cleaner as a start.... If still cannot, have to clean the whole injection system, should be rm300-400.....

What is the purpose of fuel injector cleaner? If im not mistaken if the car is old enough, the petrol tank will corrosive a little bit @ petrol at the gas station is contamibated and that is why petrol filter used for. The function to clean the petrol before petrol go to injector. Maybe the owner forgot to change the petrol filter every 40k

I change my petrol filter after 100k also no problem.....
Because you got carbon build ups on the injection heads, so you need to clean them.... Either you do it once(let foreman clean that cost rm300-400) or pour in injection cleaner once a while.... I've been doing this for the past 6 years and so far my car never fails on me....
This makes my foreman quite angry with me sometimes...

the manual said 40k but still can go more.. but 100k? is too much bro.. thats why u always used fuel injector cleaner.. but if im not mistaken the cost is not cheap for vios..Rm400+ but for proton really cheap.. wira Rm12 .. hehehehe

Old saga yes, rm12 and still got balance... But Wira is rm60-70 + installations... Even if I change on time, I still need to put injection cleaner.... As it still get partial blocked.... I always record down my FC each top up, so I can tell when I need to pour in(either strong smell or bad FC)....

Thats the funny thing.No check engine light, car starts normally. Fuel consumption still remains the same before and after .But if compare to other waja's,I consider the FC bad.Rm30 of RON95 can last me 180km.Probably all this while, my engine has been running rich just that I did not notice it.

yes it should be.. ur car should be running rich since long time ago...

Anyway,what are the remedies for this kind of problem? Go for engine tune-up? I am not sure if any mechanic has the specialised equipment to do tune-up for proton cars other than Authorised Proton workshop
