I think his main concern is whether MBB will send love letter ask to prove those are personal transactions but not business transactions.
Heard a few cases recently, but not first hand info, can't comment much.

Yea, Msia version never attractive in terms of extra benefits.
However, we are earning >4 miles per USD1, for all (general) categories which is way superior than US counterpart.
The only setback is our M2P also earning the same rate.

In conclusion, if the AF justify additional perks vs M2P, go for it.
We can't really compare with other countries.

Earning air miles and redeeming air miles are two different knowledge.
Both are equivalently important and too big to teach from basic.
Play with redemption is the key, the more you play, the more you master.

I will suggest you to start with the following article on KF - Star Alliance redemption.

Similarly, you can use Asia miles for OneWorld redemption.
These two FFPs are most common for us, with plenty online guidance to help us too.
Master in these two before explore other FFP.

Unfortunately Amex doesn't offer us too much option.
The 3rd useful is probably Emirates and followed by Etihad.
Always understand why you redeem certain FFP.
Consolidate into few FFP rather than keeping plenty FFPs with little miles.
We try to avoid orphaned miles which we can't redeem via CC.

I wish that we can transfer to Avios too.
Msia Amex Platinum need to increase more FFP partners!

Nevertheless, we already have two OW FFP for Qatar redemption, not a priority to add Avios.
With Thai Royal Orchid not an attractive FFP, will be glad if they can offer us EVA or ANA or Turkish for Star Alliance.
As for SkyTeam, will be glad to include KLM on top of Delta.

Straight away ask your question, elaborate more on your concern, what you think is good or bad, why you want this card, your spending pattern etc
Without understanding more, I can only say worth or not depends on individual

1. You need to pay annual fee upfront (for first year). They are quite strict on waiver, you may try to request if you spend >RM500k (or 1M). I think they will offer to offset AF with MR points too.

2. Recently tested around 1.5-2.5%. Quite hard to find a fixed % with fluctuating currency nowadays.

3. Again, they are quite strict in annual income requirement, even slightly above 190k they will ask for supporting documents prior submission for management approval.

Your principal PP can bring in one additional guest.
