It's a pumper carb, not a slide carb. Better not. Come to think of it, Belang-R uses same carb, without TPS I think. This post has been edited by alexei: Feb 24 2011, 02:28 AM

QUOTE(serigala @ Feb 24 2011, 02:52 AM) Better if it's in good condition. Referring to DansMC website, pumper carb when it dies, he could never fix one - even after changing EVERYTHING. My usual mechanic mentions the same thing. This means the carb cannot be tuned properly. Better just get a VM26. |

My bad on the tire pressure. I remembered that from a suspension tuning page that I read. Follow the spec.
@Charge: The LC manifold has a reed-valve that prevents the letup2 if not mistaken. So, if you want it that way, should open up the mechanism and block it. QUOTE Yamaha T135 Service Manual This post has been edited by alexei: Feb 28 2011, 03:46 PMAIR INJECTION The air induction system burns unburned exhaust gases by injecting fresh air (secondary air) into the exhaust port, reducing the emission of hydrocarbons. When there is negative pressure at the exhaust port, the reed valve opens, allowing secondary air to flow into the exhaust port. The required temperature for burning the unburned exhaust gases is approximately 600 to 700 ?C. AIR CUT-OFF VALVE The air cutoff valve is operated by the intake gas pressure through the piston valve diaphragm. Normally, the air cut-off valve is open to allow fresh air to flow into the exhaust port (? to ∫). During sudden deceleration (the throttle valve suddenly closes), negative pressure (?) is generated and the air cutoff valve is closed in order to prevent after-burning. Additionally, at high engine speeds and when the pressure decreases, the air cut-off valve automatically closes. |

@anep: were you revving the engine at the traffic light? Or did you rev very high before you reach the traffic light? Does the fire come with lots of smoke or very little smoke? Maybe the exhaust fiber catch fire burning the old carbon deposit. Or maybe the intake manifold leaking petrol, and it go through the reed valve into exhaust and burn there...

Free gear got letop2 is weird... normally, is lepas throttle, and engine braking the time will be like that... by the way, some ppl overpump their tyre to 40psi because the air pump mention min-30 max-40 for motorcycles... hahaha...

@0163119779: He bored up your stock carb? Like grind it?
@budakmentah: check the plug, I think it's damaged already. Or could be the carb is clogged causing the setting off. |

@riderz135: If you have the LC service manual, look for the carb section, it tellls you how to do it.
But before that, make sure the FC is not 'agak' one, use measurements by tracking your refuel and mileage. Sometimes, bad FC is not the carb but rather things like air filter, spark plug, brakes etc... based on my experience, tuning the idle doesn't affect the FC much. Only if you use an oversized jet or something then ur bike is spraying petrol onto the road... |

Be your own mechanic better...
@zelk: Small jet will cause rich fuel. This is what I learn when tuning my bike. This, I don't know why. All the google results tell me vice versa. One of the reason maybe the VM carbs have pilot fuel jet, and not pilot air jet, which works the other way around. Since TS125 is a VM24, it should have the same problem. What happen is my bike will sputter at low RPM like never enough fuel, but the plug will be black and oily. So far, I have replaced that carb with stock jet but haven't tried putting it back on. Now using a China carb, just nice. Even the piston crown is shiny until now... If LC RM4 travel 100km is very good... that's 47.5km per liter!!!
But, LC tank size is 4.3l, RGV is 5.2. I agak for LC full tank should be around 3.5liter, which is ~RM6.67. I usually pump fulltank 4.3~4.6 liter and travel 170km. That's how it comes to 37-39km per liter. For me, I keep to a fixed mileage, then pump full to a fixed marker on my tank cap, and then keep a record everytime. Here's how to adjust idle and pilot: Since LC carb has the pilot air screw set that is nearer to the engine, the more you turn out, the richer it is... stock setting is turn the screw all the way in lightly, then 1 5/8 turn out. If you set 2 turns or more, it will be more fuel and then pick up will be sluggish. This post has been edited by alexei: Mar 2 2011, 11:30 PM |
