Off topic : As a ex-engineer/technician of proton, dont tell me you doesn't know Campro doesn't produce 1.8. If you follow the replies in this thread, you'll see that people already mentioned this is a Renault engine. Please stop spamming around the forum without even go through what people is discussing.

Well, Proton are very very proud to come out with their 1.6 Campro engines.... And if they do come out 1.8 Campro engines and mount it on Inspira, I'll avoid buying it.... Getting back Mitsubishi engines are good especially getting second hand cars. At least foreman are more experience on repairing them...
Getting second hand cars are not depending on luck, but also the knowledge on maintaining it.

It's not your fault and at all. If he doesnt know that 1.8 model is using Renault engine, then why it's he say it's no good? Think of it, does his reply really useful to you?

By the way, If you follow all the replies by him, you'll see that he's spamming all around the Fast & The Furious section and keep pushing his Eneos product.

why so marah blink.gif
how do you know im x-engineer at Proton
its so unrelated to the topic..no need to touch my personal life..im very tacing person ok.. whistling.gif

of course i know about it.. i'm really sorry because i dont read the discussion on details first..

ok if you want to buy waja 1.8 is not worth your money because of spares is hard and expensive compared to 4g18 waja. if you plan to buy waja campro.. i also not recommended since many user complain and my brother also complained it have no power... waja is heavy and the engine is only 1.6... same thing happen to Kia Forte.. big size of car, low cc engine.. no torque during driving to Genting.. my friends so frustrated..

thanks you..

The one bout people talking on expensive spare parts on this 1.8 renault F4P engine is true since very few units was produced and thus the availability of 2nd hand parts is scarce.

But, I can definitely tell you the driving experience on this 1.8 renault engine is much much better than the stock 1.6 4G18. I own a 2001 waja 1.6 and driven my cousin's 1.8 waja.

The first impression is the torque delivery on the 1.8 is smoother,it revs much easier and more pickup than the 4G18. Not to mention the NVH level is improved from the old waja due to different dampers being used for the car.

But the faster 1.8 waja comes at a price. The FC I can say is more terrible than the waja 1.6.My cousin says he only gets bout 140km on RM30 of RON95 fuel. I can easily get 190km on RM30.

So far,he did not complain of any major fault with his waja beside power window and the occasional squeak from the suspension. The engine is still in good condition.

In conclusion, if you use the car more for highway and long distance travel,by all means go for the 1.8 waja. If you use the car more for town driving, then the waja 1.6 is more suitable. You can get a 2003 version at RM3k more than the waja 1.8

Waja 1.6 is far more reliable than the 1.8. I can amke the FC lower, can reflash. Keep the engine clean, you wont get high fuel consumption.

Another thing is, do you see any waja doing overhauls in workshops? Answer is no.... if yes, seldom. Robust engine block

and you need to keep in mind maybe not many machanic know how to fix a renault engine.

So, it may be wise to get a easier engine to fix. Car is not a one off deal, you need to repair, maintain and such as such.

Thank you brother........
Definitely will not think about 1.8
but I am considering the 1.6 Wira too.
For you, 1.6 Wira or 1.6 Waja.  Which one will you choose?
*
FYI Waja 1.6 & Wira 1.6 uses different engine.

Waja 1.6 = 4G18

Wira 1.6 = 4G92

That's why Wira got different problems than Waja......
