Ok I am trying Connectbot now. Kernel: 2.6.32.9 stefano@stefano-desktop #1082.

Added on January 17, 2011, 5:19 pmwhich ifconfig shows /system/bin/ifconfig..

Added on January 17, 2011, 5:21 pmSorry rainbow, but I think I missed this step when I do step 1.

3. Select LYNBVPN.zip from the location that you downloaded in step (3a)
Is it important? I don't understand this part.
*
You need to download AndBVPN.zip and LYNBVPN.zip, then reboot to CWM and flash each of the file, then reboot normally. If you have already installed Openvpn settings, just follow the instruction after installing it.

rainbow6, need help please.

i didnt check using the connectbot at first without knowing my ifconfig is /system/bin/ifconfig and i flash the busyVPN.zip instead of AndVPN.zip. after that, i delete the folder xbin in system folder from root explorer, at first the flash back to AndVPN.zip is fine, but then when i try using OpenVPN, it said 'system doesnt met requirements. you need root'. so i installed back again root from speedmod kernel and when i try to flash back AndVPN.zip, now it said :

E:Can't symlink /system/xbin/bb/ifconfig
E:Failure at line 3:
symlink /system/bin/ifconfig SYSTEM:xbin/bb/ifconfig
Installation abort

How to solve this? Is it my system is already messed up (which i think so right now) ? Thanks a lot. Im looking forward to use this Boleh VPN smehow.

edit : and right now im using the OpenVPN, when i turn on the open vpn, it cannot connect and says " FATAL: Cannot allocate TUN/TAP dev dynamically". what's the cause of the problem eh? im staying in Egypt btw, is this working outside Malaysia or not?

It should work anywhere in world.
But you should not delete /system/xbin, that totally messed up your system. My configuration wrote to /system/xbin/bb, which you can delete. /system/xbin/bb can be deleted and recreate by reflash the AndBVPN. However if you delete /system/xbin, you need the reinstall your kernel and then reinstall my files.

i already flash back the kernel (speedmod K12N) and delete the folder in /system/xbin/bb but when i start restarting the OpenVPN, still the TUN/TAP cannot allocate dynamically. still cannot do. doh.gif wait, this is also functioning for 3G connection right?

For speedmod, you need to enable tun in the tweak menu. Reboot to recovery modd and the go to speedmod lagfix and choose tweaks and enable tun.

There is no need to renew the IP since this is static ip.

Maybe related to your dns. During connection to openvpn you are using google dns. It may take your isp sometimes to reset the dns. Go to openvpn setting and click on the fix dns and check which dns are you using.

Im not sure if your provider allow you to use goggle dns or nof.

Why is it device specific? Isn't that all rooted android phones can use?

Openvpn requires the used of tun drivers which is specific to the kernel. For other devices or brands (MUST BE ROOTED), you can do the following:
1. Download and install from the market openvpn installer
2. Download and install from the market openvpn setting
3. Download our LYNBVPN.zip client config which consists of files to connect to the free server.

The zip file to be extracted to the /sdcard/openvpn (or whichever folder HTC etc.. called it).

Connect to the server using openvpn setting.

But I a first time user. Can anyone confirm this?
Is the server down or I screwed up?

After running a couple of months with openvpn and receiving feedbacks from users, we have decided to drop the approach of openvpn and implement L2TP/IPsec VPN for all mobile devices.
Please refer to www.bolehvpn.net/l2tp.html for instruction to enable VPN in your devices, it can be for Android, IOS and whatever else that support L2TP/IPSec.

Remember that you need to replace the server to andfree.bolehvpn.net for US-IP and l2tp.bolehvpn.net for EU-IP.

No download or installation of any software is required and THIS IS FREE until further notice.

Usage for vpn:
1. Ensuring privacy during connection using public wifi access point, encrypting your connection and transmission
2. Accessing block websites
3. Bypasing firewall rules
4. Accessing country specific websites and streaming contents such as those wanting use pandora or US only youtube.
5. Accessing android market with EU or US ip address
