QUOTE(riku2replica @ Mar 18 2011, 09:00 AM) that was months ago. I'm just gonna re-finance and see if G74 will be worthy my money. Owh I see..I can't see 3D throught the glasses, i still the red/green color interlaced even with the glasses. Though i dun feel headache about it. But I heard that G74 will be available by 3rd quarter of the yr, rite? Well, since the 3D isn't that good for now, I'll back off about that. To think that the 3D Naked Eye would be amazing, I suppose we gotta wait till 3D starts to saturate the market and consumers 1st. The wait for G53 is so long, ugh.. |

The price of the G53SW is tagged at a price of USD1495, it is close to the price of MSI GT680.
I wonder if many will buy this G53SW. |

QUOTE(Pewufod @ Apr 12 2011, 03:05 PM) One of the main reason, bang for buck. The difference between the price of a 2630QM and a 2720QM is not much. Besides that, the turbo boost for 2720QM is obviously higher =) Oh ya, 2720QM has the extra features too like VT-d. And 2720QM also supports 1600 DDR3 RAMs. I even heard that 2720QM is listed as being able to support 4G Wimax technology =) Just being rather future proof and at the same time having a more powerful processor to carry out my work faster. I know that having a 2720QM won't bring much benefits to gamers, therefore I'm picking this upgrade for the sake of my work as well =) |

I think the G74 will come equipped with a 3GB VRAM GTX560m?
Check this out : http://www.asus-shop.sk/katalog/asus-noteb...blrw-1tb-8g-7hp We gotta look forward to Computex Taiwan, more information regarding the G74 will be unveiled. Besides the G74, where is the 15 incher that is equipped with the GTX560m!? I wonder if ASUS will start implementing keyboard or accessories from other companies like what MSI has done to the GT780R. A steelseries keyboard,omg.. |

Based on previous discussions in the past after Cebit 2011, we predict July or August?
You can check out Gentech and Xotic, some of the laptops available for pre-order are equipped with the GTX560m. But I don't see 3GB VRAM in them =/ |

GTX560m with 2GB?
This is something new.. But still, we have to see how much better this GPU is compared to 5870 and 460m. Can't wait =) I suppose this is going to be a great competition with the upcoming MSI GT683R. |

Wow, it's really RM4999 for a G53SW-3DE, OMG!!
That's darn cheap, but why suddenly so affordable? I mean, the price is almost the same as in US, this is just unbelievable.. But this is great news!! G53SX better be cheap in Malaysia as well XD |

Lol, for early owners, it wud definitely mean a great loss that the G53 has dropped in value.
I was wondering why though, G53 is a superior gaming rig and they dropped it's price so badly, n it's a G53SW-3DE! Omg, I suppose it would be irresistable n many would grab d laptop before ASUS might change the offer XD I'm looking forward to how much they would offer the G53SX.. I wanna ask, would ASUS help me customize if I asked them to? Eg: Upgrade wifi modem to Intel 6300 Definitely, they'll charge extra, I don't mind that. |

Clear stock? To make way for G53SX?
Then would they tag the new G53SX at around that price as well? I hope so XD Anyway the ASUS VX7 is still new, RM5999 for the rig is quite affordable since it has performance and it carries the Lamborghini logo. |

Not exactly the same specs, the GPU has twice the amount of RAM.
With 3GB VRAM, it is able to support higher resolutions much better. But imo, what's the point when the bus width is not even improvised? It's not powerful enough to support higher graphical qualities. =/ VX7 also has 16GB 1333MHz RAM =) But still not many can maximise the memory to that extend, at least not us gamers and multimedia users =x Ya, it's HD, sigh.. Despite that, a 3D version with that price tag is worth it. By next year only will the G53 3D version will have the FHD screen because the naked eye 3D will be released by then. |

Lol, isn't naked eye 3D much more convenient than glasses 3D?
Imagine going to public to game n u hv 2 wear glasses to play in 3D, it's odd XD Sumtimes I game at Starbucks, I noe it might look odd but wif d naked eye 3D, it helps =x I agree wif ya, d 16GB reli isnt necessary at the moment, at least not during this year and the years onwards.. |

U tried using naked eye 3D before?
Well, there are pros and cons.. Using the naked eye 3D has a disadvantage where u hv to stay at a 'sweet' spot to get the effect. But I found out that most G53 with 3D are only HD, no FHD 3D except for G73 =( |

There's a post in this thread that mentioned that the G53SX will be released earlier than the G74SX is it?
When is the estimated date of announcement or release anyway? |

QUOTE(kailoonthedog @ May 30 2011, 05:24 PM) Wao gtx 560m , can't wait for it , going to work at july and august and get $$ + my mum 4k to buy lol , is it enough?? around 6k something 6k something? It shouldn't be that expensive unless u did some modifications..A RM6k+ G53 would include upgrade to a 2720QM above with thermal paste, 6300 ultimate modem, additional hard disk in the 2nd hdd bay, a hybrid disk n a possible blu-ray upgrade. Otherwise,it shud b less than RM5k. U're goin for d upgrades? |
