My tissot just arrived this afternoon..thanks guys on all of your recommendations.. thumbup.gif  next buy would be a chrono...i'mm wondering if my wrist is suitable wearing a 42mm to 45mm watch.. hmm.gif

Nice, how much is the damage? Seller?
45mm may look big on you, in general watch size is fine as long as the lugs do not protrude from the surface of your wrist.

^I'm sure if you can afford a PP, there is no such concept as 'cheap' or 'expensive'.

The Seastar looks good though the price is slightly on the high side to me. For 3k I would get a 7750 Hamilton Jazzmaster or Khaki line model.

Invest in a tissot? I dunno.. at RM3k seems expensive... my RM1.5k voljoux 7750 is on the way over from germany its so cheap i cant resist to take a look.. atleast it would make interesting dinner conversation.. "Wow, yours is 20k? Oh mine cost around Petaling Street price" hahaha  brows.gif

RM1500 is negligible? I'm starting to feel like a micro timer biggrin.gif
Look forward to the pics.

Nice, on par with the Visodate as one of the best (value for money) dress watches from Tissot.
I like the part where the lugs meet the case, the uneven surface gives it a unique look.

It's Friday! As the thread risks being moved to the 2nd page of the Style & Fashion forum, here's a pic to share biggrin.gif

I like the look, no idea on the brand though. Would be awesome if this came with blued hands.

After browsing the website that patryn pointed out, I must say the Zeppelin designs are quite nice and they come at a reasonable price point too.

Particularly like the models with display caseback showing the beautiful Poljot movement. Didn't know this movement had a history behind it, learnt something new smile.gif

Last I checked, some of the dealers are offering 10% off. Not sure about Omega boutiques but I doubt the discount will be higher than ADs.

I understand that discounts in the US are steeper, up to 20-25% off if not mistaken.

The 6497 is a reliable work horse. Heck, it's still being used by Panerai in some of their base models today. And the one Steinhart uses comes with cotes de geneve and blued screws, which adds a nice touch when viewed from the display back.

I'd say go for it if you're not that into the history thing wink.gif

The watch shops you see in malls are typical ADs (authorized dealers). Grey dealers usually sell on the net. See link below for more info.

ML Pontos chrono by local grey dealer at ~5.2k.

fluffy, I too have been browsing the net for the moon watch. Definitely one of my targets in the future. I would go for something used but in excellent/mint condition, usually can find them on the bay or WUS and TZ sales fora for around USD2200 - 2600, which is a minimum 35% discount from retail.
The 3570.50 is the most popular model with hesalite crystal, but if you can find the discontinued 3572.50 (transparent caseback with sapphire crystal) it is quite collectible and can fetch a better price on the used market.

For a quick comparison, a SMP chrono (not PO) retails at slightly less than 12k, a Speedy is 13k. A used SMPC may go for around 7.5k, while a late model of the Speedy pro may easily fetch 8k or higher. So I think both hold their values pretty much the same.

However I cannot say whether it is the same for the non-chrono SMP or the PO series as I do not follow the prices as closely.

Added on November 8, 2011, 3:48 pmCalibre 321 was the movement used by the pre-moon Speedy, up to 1968 or so. It was later on replaced by the 861 and then the 1861 which can be found today's modern Speedy.

I would go for the Ball. Watchart carries a few Balls, both new and used, at quite attractive prices. Too bad they don't accept Paypal.

The Orient open dial series is a very nice option under 500. You can get it at most Orient dealers.
