but still our midfielders sux especially on the 2nd half ehhh...i think theres a period where wolves dominated bout 20minutes and played entirely in liv halves..luckily our defense stood tall...heard that we r chasing Charlie Adams..that should add creativity & steel to our mid!

QUOTE(kamkamparadise @ Jan 23 2011, 10:43 AM) Ian Holloway was quite pissed with the bid as he labeled that bid was a disgrace for a player of Charlie Adams' stature. He didn't blame it on KD but on Comolli instead. we only follow aston villa price on him...and thats 4m! One thing i noticed on last night game was Liverpool pressing game are back all the way to the opposition keeper. That is the Liverpool i know, never give opponent chance to have possesion. When Liverpool are playing like that, pressing, fluid passing and movement, opponent won't be able to execute their game plan as they are busy with stopping Liverpool attack. Good sign with that win. Surely will lift up players' confidence. Few areas need to improve first though. Even though Kelly was impressive last night, Wolves still managed to bombard Liverpool's box with dangerous crosses. Luckily the center backs was up to the task. anyway we'll make an improve bid on him Kenny Dalglish to bid £5m for Blackpool star Charlie Adam LIVERPOOL boss Kenny Dalglish will make a new £5million offer for Charlie Adam – with the Blackpool skipper ready to walk to Anfield. Adam, who scored a late penalty in Blackpool’s 2-1 defeat at home to Sunderland yesterday, has told the club he is determined not to miss out on a dream move to Merseyside. Blackpool boss Ian Holloway said he would allow Adam to move only to a top-four club, but Liverpool were “an exception.” Dalglish is ready to go back for the 25-year-old Scot after having a £4m bid turned down. But he will get a frosty reception from Holloway. He said: “These clubs who have made an offer for Charlie had better start putting a ‘1’ in front of the complete rubbish they have been offering so far. If Darren Bent is worth £24m how much is Charlie worth?” http://www.people.co.uk/sport/football/foo...02039-22868935/ |

QUOTE(berzerk @ Jan 24 2011, 10:05 AM) One assist for Torres' first goal, at least 2 short passes straight to the opposition in the 2nd half and hardly a mention by the commentator in the first half. hahaha..this one i agreed..he gave wolves a great chance to score after losing the ball in the middle of the park! Long way to go for Poulsen. He makes Lucas look like Souness. Added on January 24, 2011, 11:31 amSky Sports presenters Andy Gray and Richard Keys say sorry after mocking lineswoman during Liverpool victory Andy Gray and Richard Keys, the Sky Sports presenters, were forced to apologise for sexist comments aimed at a lineswoman during Liverpool’s 3-0 victory over Wolves. ![]() Eyes on the action: Sian Massey was mocked by Andy Gray and Richard Keys even though television replays proved her right Photo: AFP By Sandy Macaskill 11:05PM GMT 23 Jan 2011 Sandy's Twitter The pair had thought their observations on Sian Massey and her understanding of the offside rule during the match at Molineux were being made in private, but their microphones were still on. A transcript and tape of the conversation was leaked to the media. Although no part of their exchange was broadcast, their comments provoked outrage when made public on Sunday and Sky, which has the broadcast rights to the women’s FA Cup final, was quick to castigate Keys and Gray. The men were said to have apologised, although it was unclear whether their apology had been made to Massey. “The comments reported are not acceptable,” Sky said. “They were not made on air but we have spoken to Richard and Andy and told them our views. They have apologised and expressed their regret.” Keys and Gray made their remarks after Massey refused to penalise Raul Meireles for being offside before he set up Liverpool’s first goal. Television replays showed that she was right to allow Fernando Torres’s goal in the 36th minute, but that did not stop Keys and Gray berating the 25 year-old. “Can you believe that?” Gray responded. “A female linesman. Women don’t know the offside rule.” “Course they don’t,” Keys replied. “I can guarantee you there will be a big one today. Kenny [Dalglish] will go potty. This isn’t the first time, is it? Didn’t we have one before? Wendy Toms?” Keys was referring to Dorset postmistress Toms, the first female to run the line in the Football League and Premier League. Gray is overheard on the recording saying “she was ------- hopeless as well”. Keys later criticised Karren Brady, the West Ham vice-chairman, who had written a newspaper column about sexism. “The game’s gone mad,” he said. “Did you hear charming Karren Brady this morning complaining about sexism? Do me a favour, love.” Brady branded the remarks as “absolutely abhorrent” while Kelly Cates, the daughter of Liverpool manager Dalglish and a former Sky Sports News presenter now working for ESPN, ridiculed Gray and Keys. “Phew am exhausted,” she wrote on Twitter. “Just read about something called 'the offside rule’. Too much for my tiny brain. Must be damaged from nail polish fumes.” The Football Association reiterated its “wholehearted and continuing support” for female match officials. QUOTE(farisq @ Jan 24 2011, 03:45 PM) Can somebody explain to me why Holloway values Charlie Adam very high other than he wanted to squeeze the most money out of him. I mean its not like he is a proven BPL player. Yes, he has shown good performance so far. But it is still a gamble from our side. I saw rumour that SWP will go to Fulham for £4 and I think he is slightly less of a gamble than Adam. coz adam were crucial for their survival in BPL...can get as much as 20m if they can survive from relegation |

QUOTE(Petre @ Jan 25 2011, 08:57 AM) dont mean to kill the optimism here but we must not be cheated by false hope again. no offense but wolves was just suppose one of those teams we should beat easily week in week out. players like shelvey are promising but they are inexperienced, especially against big teams, we may struggle... wolves beat man city & chelsea at molineux...they're not that bad at home & yet we bullied them off the parkour long standing problems are still there - a strike partner for torres, wingers... to name a few |

QUOTE(solstice818 @ Jan 25 2011, 07:02 PM) To be honest, I don't know why we are bidding for Adam right now when we have adequate cover in midfield. and of all those midfielders who do u think can replace alonso in terms of passing???...ZERO!..ZILCH!..ILLEK! We have Gerrard, meireles, Lucas, Poulsen, Shelvey and even Spearing. No point paying too much for someone who is out of contract soon. |

QUOTE(hosiery2u @ Jan 26 2011, 12:34 PM) Seem like getting Suarez service is fading away. But it is ok because I don't think Suarez is worth that much. 25million asking price from Ajax is exaggerated. I would rather King Kenny get someone else from KOP academy. hazard, marko marin, nzogbia etc..there's a hell lot of players out there that similar to suarez..younger too! |

QUOTE(kazuki85 @ Jan 26 2011, 02:07 PM) Meireles is well known as an all rounder box-to-box midfielder back in Portugal...similar mold as a young Gerrard where he can take long shots, make good passes, mobile and able to track back players to help the defence. by the time we waited meireles to peak in 2 years time..adam has become a regular starter at villa! His passing and vision may not be as good as Alonso or Adam...but he's passes aren't bad either. And I hope he improves over time because for a midfielder he's still young at 27. Most midfielders peak at 29-31 years of age. In short, he's the jack of all trades! He's sure hardworking by running his socks off and mobile, which probably why Kenny, Woy, and us fans like him...like how we like Dirk Kuyt. if king kenny likes adam, who are we to judge ehhhh |
