We should have the big market as well.
I'm pretty sure many can afford to pay MYR4000-4500 for an i7-6xx TimelineX.
I'd say local Acer dealer is doing something fishy or bad decision.
*
If u know most Malaysian's perception towards Acer product, I dun think that price could sell....

Even the Acer Ethos having a HD5850 selling around RM4.5k only dun have much ppl buying also...

no,is not distributor who make decision
there is a company who distribute Acer and Asus, but no them who make decision which model to bring in
*
Ok, started off confusing, but I get it now..

It's like..

There's an Acer Sdn Bhd making decisions what models to sell in Malaysia
Then Acer allows the distributors to bring in certain laptops
Then distributors give the laptops to retailers to sell...

Am I correct in understanding that?

Major authorised Acer sellers get their stocks directly from Acer, not from distributors like for example Servex.

SG people more tech savvy, most Malaysians knows nuts about IT products.

Acer still the top selling brand in Malaysia.

Ethos 5943 now @ RM4199.
*
Maybe I should rephrase my sentence..

I know Acer is top selling brand in Malaysia, mainy is due to their price being the lowest compared to other brands and a lot of users are real budget users unlike us all in the forum who have a choice of limiting our budget as we like.. For them they have no choice but to get the cheapest option available... The Market for 1.5k-2.5k is probably the biggest in Malaysia and I am guessing Acer dominated it..
However, what we are talking about here is the 3k-4k Market.. Users at this budget range are able to extend ther budget and they can consider many different brands.. Given the same specs of Acer and Asus at the same price, I believe 7/10 of them would choose Asus over Acer.. Do you even have much ppl buying Ethos from you? For 4.2k, I am betting most of the ppl of this class would extend few hundred bucks more to get a ROG from garage sales.. Moreover Ethos is Acer's premium series also..

QUOTE(metaloid @ Jan 20 2011, 12:25 AM)
agreed. the most common are people looking for laptops 1.5k-2.5k due to our currency. thats why especially here in east malaysia, resellers and even distributors dont keep stock of higher end laptops like 3k+ we have to order it from kl. heck this even applies to desktop i7 processors. but from what i see those with bigger budgets go for xps, toshiba, hp pavillion or mbp and people buying laptops online here is rare...
*
Coming from Kota Kinabalu myself, I can see that most of our laptops sold are low-med specs laptop only... I can hardly find any good-spec ones.. If got also need to order or wait...

can give some fps on others game ?
how about cod blackops ?
getting laptop,and i m looking for cheapest.
so far i get offer RM2799 for this laptop.
trying to search for lower price.
thank you
*
RM2799 is very good already.. Go grab it while there's still available stocks... If u still wanna continue searching for cheaper options, the sellers who sell cheap would likely to be out of stock and you will have to wait... Rm20-30 differences is nothing compared to a long unending wait...

ermm how about we compare U3 and NC3000?
which one is better in cooling...
but im interesting with U3 coz i can adjust the fan
*
U3 also can, even cheaper, but dun think it's as good as Infinite...

After seeing my friend's Infinite, I was very impressed with it... It cools the whole bottom of your laptop and you can adjust fan speed also...

I am using a U2, the individual fans is not really as strong I thought it should be... Well if you're very sure which parts of ur laptop to cool, go for U3 then, cheaper also...

The most important place to cool the laptop would only be the left side of the laptop. Can go up to 70-80+ degree when gaming.
*
HDD is very important also..

Can anyone or garage seller can confirm if acer will bring in 4750G to malaysia? If 4750G is going to sell in malaysia i definitely will go and get one. doh.gif

Added on January 22, 2011, 10:05 amOk, seems like got some info from acer FB fan page.
Acer Malaysia:  4750G will be available in Malaysia. We just can't mention much now until 20 Feb.
*
Malaysia's version would probably be a dual core SB.... Sounds like smth Acer Malaysia would decide on based on past actions..

play of coz can play, even last time my laptop with 14" oso can play

but if u connect to larger monitor, the quality u get wont be full HD quality, as the laptop can support up to 1366 x 768 onli
*
what are you talking about? Have you even connect to a larger monitor urself before? The laptop screen is 1366x768 doesnt mean the external monitor is the same also... As long as ur external monitor is FullHD, u would be able to get FullHD with it regardless of the laptop screen...

QUOTE(ping0613 @ Jan 22 2011, 09:47 PM)
