The bluetooth specs printed on the sticker at the palm rest area.

If no mini pci-e slot, think I gonna pass this because I have a spare wwan mini pci-e to use

Interesting, so there're really 2 variants of 5750G?? Have our retailers in this forum been trolled by the distributors as well???

i dun lurk la , just now saw the post , was shocked , manyak slowpoke , didnt know SB came to malaysia adi lolol.

i really wanna get one XD , will be mah 1st lappie lol
but need to wait for other competitors 1st , keke

There's quite a few SB laptops now...

Acer 5750G at rm2899
Lenovo Y560p at rm2999
HP dv6 at rm3299 - http://h20386.www2.hp.com/MalaysiaStore/Pr...95&pid=C338007&
Asus N53SN rm3599 - coming next week apparently

Lots more coming soon I bet..

HP dv6 have the best GPU among these 4 because of the GDDR5 HD6570 but I am concerned about the heating probs though.. Heck it's a dv series we're talking about here, but hopefully Sandy Bridge cooler Quad cores can lessen the prob.. If temp is fine, HP Dv6 is probably the best buy, the design is sleek too, lightest among those 4 mentioned...

when will they come out with an i5 T_T
*
U mean Dual Cores? Probably around March.. Why do you want dual core now when quadcore is like sub-3k price only?

Wow, if 3 minutes can solve the problem, tomorrow I'm going to the shop.

Cheaper price? hmm.gif
*
Dun have any pricing information yet but I am predicting it would only be around RM200-300 difference only? Since more and more games/programs are optimising quad cores now, quad seems like a better choice though, just my opinion... Unless the Dual core one can produce amazing battery life with the lower TDP

ya cheaper price , less power , less heat , etc .
coz i dun need i7 + super GCs .
but if need to wait till march .. T_T
*
If really can't wait, just get 4820TG for RM24xx then... i5-480M isn't too shabby either...

My more inferior i5-450m is serving me quite well for most things...

btw not all i7's are quad core.. i7 dual cores have same TDP's as i5 dual cores...

I found this very helpful in understanding the new SB processors and in relation to the last few posts, a good idea of how they price the new chips. And possibly helping you estimate what the entire machine would cost. So
I thought I'd share it with you guys.

I think Intel made a good decision releasing the Core i7-2630QM first. It's the entry level i7 processor, best bang for buck at just over $300. Optimal processors for mid-range 'entertainment' laptops. The Xtreme edition of the i7 rockets upwards of a grand. Those would be released later in the year on your xps' and alienwares. The i5s would come out around March.
If you are planning to buy a laptop I would advice waiting till after February, giving you the luxury of being spoiled for choice.
*
yea problem is he needs to get a new lappie by the end of this month but SB Dual cores coming out only in March, that's why I said just get the older generation if he really dun want SB Quad Core...

With some of upcoming Asus new i5-480M lappies priced at RM2699, I don't think SB Dual cores would have much choices during early March... Even if it does, the prices wouldn't differ much from the entry level quads because that would ruin their sales on the older generation lappies...

The Acer 5750G around RM27xx only.. You gotta ask urself what prices are u expecting for SB Dual Cores? I am predicting around Rm25xx for Acer while slightly expensive for other brands... For almost the same price, of course better processor is a better choice right?

btw, i7-2630QM isn't too powerful my friend, it's just an entry level Quadcore for Sandy Bridge...

^ sager had offered laptop with entry quad core SB processor paired with GTX 460M graphics. Good or not? hmm.gif
*
Why not? It beats the heck out of the yet to refresh Asus G53 and some other gaming lappies which are still using the old i7 Quads...

That's how powerful Sandy Bridge is, even entry level quad core has already beaten the high-end quad core of last generation

http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Proces...ist.2436.0.html

refer here if you want benchmark list..

U're talking about MSI GT680R right? Malaysia selling for RM5999 which I think is reasonable priced considering it has 120GB SDD+500GB HDD, Bluray drive...
The USA version with 500GB+500GB HDD instead is selling around RM4.5k after converted... Not much difference considering the SSD in the Malaysia version....

Which is also why I keep insisting that the Acer 5750G for RM27xx is a bargain for such a powerful processor... 6 months ago, I only gotten myself a i5-450M which is like so much weaker for a even higher price..

in this case, i might stick with sager since the parts is upgradable smile.gif

if you're a hardcore gamer, u should wait for the higher end Quad cores to come out and observe first =)

As well as new high end GPU's of AMD HD6000 series and Nvidia 500M series

thats why. RRP for Acer 5750G is RM2899. Acer 3 years Extended Warranty is RM298

Maybe the seller jacked up the price.... What a common practice when the product is hot lol...

I remember seeing another forummer bought his Y560p for RM3099 also...

What do u mean? If you're saying how to make a program use the GT540M instead...

Just right click, go to Nvidia Control Panel, Select desired program, then choose use high performance GPU..

Those are just unethical sellers lar... If you go to those big places such as SenQ or Harvey Normans I think they must sell it RRP.. U're not suppose to sell items higher than its RRP price.. Well cheapest is still garage sales which is lower than RRP..

I dont think the Asus N53SN is out yet. I am praying it'd be available sometime next week. If you do know a confirmed release date, please get back to us...Cos out of those 4 laptops, its slightly the front runner for me personally.
In this order:

1. Asus - Good build quality, nice features, Nvidia gpu, good speakers, good reliability, best warranty deal____I hate the keyboard, no SSD option
2. lenovo - Good build quality also, decent features, best keyboard of the bunch, SSD option (though not entirely sure if its available in the MY model)____known reliability issues, average aftersale service, weaker gpu
3. HP - DDR5 Gpu, decent.. sleek design_____Bad components and reliability issues, bad aftersale services, overheating problems
4. Acer - Economical choice_____weak build quality = reliability issues, not the greatest warranty deal
*
you can always buy a SSD urself and upgrade? No? It's definitely gonna be cheaper than the upgrades given by the laptop itself...

Keyboard is quite subjective IMO, what do u mean after sales service? U know Acer and Asus share the same Highpoint service centre in Malaysia right?

Asus's international warranty deal is best, but obtaining the serivce is a hassle and somewhat feel unreliable... I am studying in London and have claimed warranty twice in a row for my previous Asus laptop... The first time I sent it in they didn't fully repaired the problem, I had to send it in a 2nd time in a row... A thing about it is that you can't send it to the cenre urself, instead they give you a courier sticker and you have to arrange a pick up for it, hence you can only write ur laptop problem on a paper to put in the box.. Then after that you can only wait for them to repair and send the laptop back to you, god knows how long would it take...

My point is, Asus International warranty is tempting, and they do have a lot of service centres across the whole world, BUT how reliable are those service centres? I do have doubts myself.. This is not only coming from myself, I have heard users from other foreign countries having such experiences as well.. but HECK, it's still the cheapest choice laptop with international warranty, that's why tons of ppl getting it...
