hi all X6 users, nokia has relase a new stock firmware V40.0.002,

changes are : a complete new web browser,
: swipe to unlock screen when in idle mode,
: still no multipoint touch due to hardware limitation,
: the screen touch response feel faster.

Update to new OFW 40.0.002

- reset *#7370#
- install mod PJPV5 Plus 8 and camera mute v1.00.
- install quick lock v0.02 due to side unlock key broken.
- so, quick lock is for lock screen, slide unlock by new FW is for unlock screen.
- install app X-plore.
- check MEM => 50.6MB after restart phone

now respond is good.

for those who haven't updated to the new OFW, here is my modded Symbian Anna v7. Try it. Works really well for me

I agree with u, besides, it camera produce image better than Xperia mini Pro.

what is the differences between S60V5 and symbian anna?

S60v5 or Symbian^1 are the older version of the OS released in 2008. It lacks of many features like Multi Touch input.

Symbian Anna or Symbian^3 was released in 2010. Its successor Symbian Belle shipped with the latest Nokias; Nokia 500, Nokia 603, Nokia 700, Nokia 701. It has many support for new features that currently lack in S60v5.

Unfortunately, because of hardware limitations Nokia phones shipped with S60v5 won't get update to the new OS.

And with the epic failure of S60v5, many people are already afraid of Symbian. Eventho Symbian^3 is much better, the fact that most Symbian^3 phones doesn't have autofocus cameras, it really sux. Only N8 has autofocus. What about the other phones that cost around RM1k but don't have autofocus? Other manufacturers are pushing cheap phones out with autofocus. You can claim EDOF is enough for most usage conditions but users see that as a additional feature other companies have which Nokia currently lacks.

I agree with you, before Nokia sign the deal with Microsoft, I really hoped they will join the mass market, Android, by producing an Android smartphone. I believe they'll back in their glorious day faster if they produce android smartphones rather than windows phone (If their windows phone able to lift them up )

maku sure u have backup using Nokia Suite before upgrading, any data 16GB card won't be disturbed. Go ahead and update to the latest firmware. Its browser is really amazing..

If Nokia N9 comes with Android I would really rike it.

thats all i gonna said.....symbian platform its a failure platform, even with the latest symbian^3. symbian^3 it does look promising but nokia slapped it own face by ditching it and use microsoft

I can't find buyer for my phone as i hesitate to sell below rm400. Now my X6 has become GPS Navigator for me and Mobile Wifi router...ha..ha...(fyi HUAWEI MOBILE WiFi (MiFi) alone worth rm 400)

I accidentally updated my nokia x6 firmware from V 3x.x.xxx (cant remember) to V 40.0.002. After the update, my phone cant read chinese word and there is no CHINESE language available in the phone language setting, only got ENG,FRACAIS,DEUTSCH,ITALIANO,PORTUGUES and ESPANOL. I hope someone will help me to solve this problem. cannot read chinese messages now
