n i think steam has successful on doing that...

Steam actually made me start buying legal copies rather than continue on my purchases/downloading of illegal pirated copies. Mainly because of cheap prices and auto patch.

I think Microsoft was the mastermind behind the buy the license to use, but not own the software itself. Thus limiting the service to 1 PC. Share license for the service can be purchased for corporate PCs. Thus they always have rewards for ratting companies using personal license for their corporate office.

There was a rumor about Valve might consider letting us sell the games back to Steam.

However, I doubt Valve will be able to implement that.

Won't happen, technically we are 'renting' the games anyway

On the bright side, expect Steam to reach your Android and iOS powered phones soon
