QUOTE(ericongq @ Feb 15 2011, 08:27 PM) Eh, my M15X how to overclock it want? T_T can anyone teach me? Is it safe to overclock it? Thru BIOS for the cpu. FYI It's not safe to overclock your hardware. How if you burn your chip and had to send in for RMA. It might goes wrong if any shit happens. But I go for it as I want major increase in performance. Play safe ya.

QUOTE(raven143 @ Mar 17 2011, 03:37 PM) finally saw the result of the new hinge today (was away when its installed). definitely felt more sturdy, 'heavy' and stable relatively compared to the old hinge. Did you get the whole brand new LCD or they just replace the internal thingy?

Just wait for the time for the hinge to fall apart then call dell. I had mine for 8 months and i can said that its still intact but it does has the signs of failing, squeaking sound when opening the lid and the alignment are not well. If no one complain about the hinge defect, i guess all those M11x owner wouldn't even paranoid about it. This post has been edited by rc2x: Mar 25 2011, 01:02 PM

What would help is if you would first take your service tag number and enter it here. Then, locate the LCD Assembly part number you purchased by clicking on Original System Configuration. Then, look at the chart above to see what your replacement LCD Assembly part number will be.
USA Customers Please contact Dell support at AWCC-Resolution_experts@dell.com * Give them your service tag number so they can look up the LCD Assembly purchased or use the above instructions to find the original and replacement part number * You will need to provide the service tag of the system, the address where the system is currently located, and two phone numbers where you can be reached in case of questions * Standard warranties will apply, so you may be asked to mail your system if your original contract was the “return to depot” variety * Once you have emailed Dell, you should be contacted within the next 5-7 business days to arrange the details of the repair * The USA only email address provided is set up to manage this LCD Assembly Hinge repair order only. Please contact Alienware Support 866-287-6727 for any other issues you may encounter with your system
NON-USA Customers * Contact Dell Support for your Region via phone or email * Give them your service tag number so they can look up the LCD Assembly purchased * Use the chart above to help them find the correct replacement part number * You will also need to provide the address where the system is currently located, phone number, email address, etc * Standard warranties will apply, so you may be asked to mail your system if your original contract was the return to depot variety
* Not all of these parts are in stock so make sure the technician checks your service tag in our tool before setting up the service! I do not have a timeline on when all the parts will be in stock. All you can do is keep checking with Dell Support in your region. As far as I know, this is a global initiative. It will take us some time to notify all Dell agents globally * Standard warranties will apply, so you may be asked to mail your system if your original contract was the “return to depot” variety * Once again, we at Dell apologize for the amount of time it took to get this fix ready to go * Also, all out of warranty M11x customers who have defective hinges ARE eligible for a one time fix to get the new designed hinges Source: http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-...-design-29.htmlThis post has been edited by rc2x: Mar 28 2011, 03:11 PM

QUOTE(Dominus91 @ Apr 1 2011, 05:34 PM) i'm back with bundle of story to tell. regarding to my hinge question being asked last few days now have been solved by whole new LCD + hinge replacement. At first when i call to dell service, they tell me hinge problem doesnt covered under my basic warranty because it is belonged to completeCover package. Well, after that they promise to do 'one-time' replacement for my hinge. Today a dell technician came to fix for me. Due to the lid and palm rest problem, the case is not settled because even new replacement cant reach to rubber stopper on the palm rest when closed. So he called to Dell for another attempt on next Monday to change the palm rest == lol. haha. Besides that, some good news for you guys (bad news for me personally) During the on-site section, I take chance to ask him about him for the rumour of m11x R3 and he admits it's truth and most probably will be launched on August 2011. It might be long to wait for because Dell is going to clear all m11x R2. after that m11x R3 will be launched officially. Regarding to m14x, he tell me that he never hear that before and might just be a rumour. So i think we dont worry about the discontinuation of m15x. oh yeah. the new m11x hinge + LCD replacement is still using old design so the rumour that m11x R2 get new hinge design is a blown-away cheers. How you know whether it's still the old design hinge? Based on physical looks? Or the technician told you so.
