The phone/email/chat Technical Support will need to verify which LCD Assembly you ordered via the Service Tag number. They will look up your Service Tag number, get the LCD Assembly part you originally ordered and then see if the new part is available.

seems like it fits my M15x keyboard very well and transparency is nice

the Dell technician just replaced my M11x hinge problem.. suprised me, he change the WHOLE casing.. its like a new laptop now.. haha.. the LCD, the hinge, entire casing.. all new.. doesnt know if the new hinge is the the new design.. if it is, well i dont see any physical changes.. he even offer me to change the HDD since i got bad sectors in mine.. he'll come back tomorrow.. making backups now.. +1 to the technician (if ur reading this)

yup the whole casing.. minus the keyboard la.
since mine bottom cover was bent abit and damaged a bit when i tried myself repairing the hinge.. i thought they would just give me a new bottom cover, but i got the whole casing new now 

yup, the technician come to my house. i didnt upgrade my warranty when i buy the laptop. standard 1 year warranty, but come to my house and do the repairing on site. nice 

the whole casing comes in 3 box.. 1 for the LCD.. 1 for the main frame.. 1 for the bottom cover..

It seems like m11x hinge problem really affecting a lot of owners. I wonder when mine going to damage... My m11x oredi 4 mths old...

how would i be able to check the serial number? does it show on the lid itself or do i have to look at the box it came in?

Quick question, how do you set the M15X laptop so that when you close the lid,it wont shutdown or even sleep. I am using it for downloading things while sleeping and I cant download when the lid is closed at it always sleeps. I think I did the setting in Alienware Fusion already.

finally saw the result of the new hinge today (was away when its installed). definitely felt more sturdy, 'heavy' and stable relatively compared to the old hinge.

can any1 really really confirm that if my warranty is over and ill still be able to ger a replacement for my lcd...cuz my warranty ends end of this month, but i dont have time to be at home for the them to come

What would help is if you would first take your service tag number and enter it here. Then, locate the LCD Assembly part number you purchased by clicking on Original System Configuration. Then, look at the chart above to see what your replacement LCD Assembly part number will be.

i'm back with bundle of story to tell.

regarding to my hinge question being asked last few days now have been solved by whole new LCD + hinge replacement. At first when i call to dell service, they tell me hinge problem doesnt covered under my basic warranty because it is belonged to completeCover package. Well, after that they promise to do 'one-time' replacement for my hinge. Today a dell technician came to fix for me. Due to the lid and palm rest problem, the case is not settled because even new replacement cant reach to rubber stopper on the palm rest when closed. So he called to Dell for another attempt on next Monday to change the palm rest == lol. haha.
Besides that, some good news for you guys (bad news for me personally)

During the on-site section, I take chance to ask him about him for the rumour of m11x R3 and he admits it's truth and most probably will be launched on August 2011. It might be long to wait for because Dell is going to clear all m11x R2. after that m11x R3 will be launched officially. Regarding to m14x, he tell me that he never hear that before and might just be a rumour. So i think we dont worry about the discontinuation of m15x.

oh yeah. the new m11x hinge + LCD replacement is still using old design so the rumour that m11x R2 get new hinge design is a blown-away
