Hi guys, im new to this headphone thingy and planning to get my first can. Im torn between Audio Technica ATH M50 , AiAiAi-TMA 1 and V-Moda LP2. I read numerous reviews and couldnt make up my mind.

i listen mostly hip hop, R&B, techno stuff. Budget will be roughly around RM700 for the headphone.

Which Amp should i pair it with to get the tight bass that i required?

With noise cancelling activated it may reduce the sound quality of your music. They usually cancel out the lower frequencies up to the low mids, so you might find the music to be a bit muffled. With the feature off, they might sound pretty good. So unless you will actually use the noise cancelling feature, for things other than while listening to music, then I suggest saving the fund for a good noise isolating headphone. I am guessing that you are looking for a headphone that will have a similar sound signature as a BA earphone, right?

AFAIK (from reading only, so take with a grain of salt), that the M50 is quite bassy as it is a DJ monitor headphone. Shure SRH 840 and AiAiAi TMA-1 Studio are monitoring headphones.

For the Grado, it is an open back headphone, so isolation will be a problem as well as sound leakage. I have a Grado SR60i (my only headphone really) and is the SR225i is any better, I'd say it is worth the pick. Although, that is according to my sound sig taste. You may not like the slightly "in-your-face" sound Grado is famous for. They are generally very good with 'Rock' music. May or may not have the amount of bass you want, I don't know, so you have to find that out for yourself. Oh and they have quite a coloured sound, but for a lot of the time, for the better.

No comment for the AKG, except for that it may be the best looking one in your list.

If you are saying which one worth the most value. I would say ns1500. We had it at a special price. So special that u won't even believe. Moreover with the noise canceling. U will need it one day.

Is there problems like sound leakage for noise cancelling like the expert above??

I never heard the goldring before but all the active noise cancelling I heard have a static noise when there is no music playing or low volume playback. It may or may not annoy you so it is best to audition first before making the move.

Thank Jaben Penang Branch. Bought my M50 Limited Edition from there. Love the sound so much. Appreciate the time they serve me and letting me testing the M50 and Beats Studio.

I used to own the Shure and the TMA-1 DJ and had a short experience with the AKG. I prefer the Shure for a wide range of music. The TMA-1 lack the treble energy but the bass and mids are very good so music can sound dull at times but non fatiguing. Never experience the tma studio but from reviews it sound quite similar to the dj.
The AKG sounds the closest to BA because of its crystal highs but bass can sound abit lacking.

The m50 seems to be the crowd favourite but I can't comment on it since I never listened to it before so my pick would be the shure. Just my 2cents

Are you talking about the new denon headphone? D600/7100? Have not heard them so can't comment.

If you talking about d5000/7000, I also have not heard them but according to many they have similar characteristics to the fostex th900 which is very good in my opinion.
