It is not encouraged to learn the piano with YAMAHA..

Mostly piano teachers are not hard to find unlike other instruments like violin, saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, flute because piano don't require so much skills like other instruments example trumpet, your buzzing must be stable. Therefore, your lungs' volume must be trained and the muscle of your diaphragm must be trained too so that you can hit high notes and low notes. And also there is one thing called intonation which require your buzzing and your air to produce appropriate.

Just practice and practice and practice in front of the piano for hours.
Who knows you can finished grade 8 in years of time ?
laugh.gif Good luck in finding a good teacher.

And just a reference for you, my first month of learning the piano is RM75 which has 4 lessons per month and each lessons are 30 minutes long. I don't know if you can find such cheap and good tutor and I don't know if the price has hiked. laugh.gif

Who says playing piano doesn't require skills? You heard wrongly my friend. There are a lot of techniques to apply when playing, and they all sound different. Why is it some people graduate grade 8, but can't play well, and some people can play really well? It's all technique!

the hard way or the easy way

EASY: go to music class..YAMAHA nears my mom working place..so is quite convenience but need to wait heck long after class...and the price is..i bet most of the ppl noe..and 1 day per week..need to start from the very beginning means i need to take a long time to progress lol rclxub.gif

HARD: find a tutor which is =.= very hard and some is very hard to trust especially in forums..need to ask relative to help finding a good personal tutor..but the good thing is can progress very fast unlike like YAMAHA which need to take a very long time to progress...

@Karenalvin
the Grade 13 in yamaha, if i'm not mistaken, that's the Special course for music teaching or something like that.
Grade 13 the lowest and grade 5 consider the top. And not many of them who can reach grade 1&2.

@funfunkid
For piano lessons, normally from grade 1-8, follow by pre-dip, atcl/alcm, ltcl/llcm
