yeap, if im not mistaken there was news about MU trying to sign Bale, about the same time Tottemham did. but like many rumours, i think its just "read-and-skip" for most fans. Bale's prospect was well known about 4 years ago, both in real life and FM tongue.gif And i still think Tottenham did a mistake by putting him on the bench too often, if he were to play more games im sure he would have gotten better sooner.

Another Welsh prospect we missed were Aaron Ramsey. Looked so set to join United being a United fan as well, Arsenal managed to convince him to join them instead. maybe the prospect of playing in a young team with attacking flair which suits him attracts him more. Apparently Arsene Wenger personally meet him and his family to sign him coz officially, he talked with Arsenal, MU and Everton. So much similar like the story on how SAF signed Giggs eh? wink.gif

who's with me feeling worried? unsure.gif considering the away form we had plus Spur's confidence and ability the highest they had recently. I think they will go into this game with winning clearly in their mind. hopefully we will win and put the away jinx behind us, but i dont think it will be a beautiful and convincing one...most probably need to grind out the result.

oh well, at least im not alone biggrin.gif the fact is, the 2nd half of the season is arguably tougher for us, but we did go into it with potentially 7 points advantage. so if the away form is to haunt us in the big games, its not the end of it. it would have been totally different if Chelsea didnt screw up and still lead the pack by 5 points, then that would be extra pressure to catch them.

so hopefully that points + game advantages can aid us a bit if we were to stumble a bit. Plus other teams will drop too, sooner or later. I hope the players have such mentality, so they can shed off some pressure on themselves.

about the unbeaten record...if Redknapp can promise us they will beat the other teams as well when they play each other, then i wont mind losing to Tott laugh.gif But seriously, if we were to win at WHL, then pressure will be on the rest: Tottenham will play the Arsenal, Chelsea and City and hopefully they will cancel each other out.

When u are against fast players, every tackle is a gamble..get it or get carded.

Oh wait, it's Fletcher. Nah, he's a brute and have to rely on referee to not getting sent off.

this is by far, the worst performance by the midfield line whole season. all the did, and i am not exxagerating, is pass the ball to opponent, kick it to empty areas or out the field. No urgency at all, and i hate to say this but even Giggs. I have no idea what is going on for him today. Anderson came in a little to late. Our attackers are also silent, but what can they do when you cant get good balls in? Nobody show any urgency to attack except for Rafael.

Back 5 has been SOLID today, they won the 1 point for us.

thought 2nd half would have been better but dayum, even worse.

But credit to Tottenham too...later other fans say when we dont get points we blame poor performance only tongue.gif they outpass, outmaneuver and outplay us in any way possible, except for winning the ball in our box. that one we have out central defenders to thank. if our defenders were as sloppy as out passing upfront, die la laugh.gif

when people think of our midfield and see Carrick and Fletcher, the word "star" wont comes into mind. Scholes also nearly past his prime, soon...Anderson while improving, still got lots to learn. So thats why when compared to other team's midfield (For example when u got Chelsea with Lampard and Essien in middle) we dont seem "great". But we never depend on individual stars do we? wink.gif Let that lone poster says what he wants, you can see other posters admit United is a great TEAM (not a great bunch of footballers) as shown by league position and goals scored, goals conceded etc.

Having said that, i also never consider Arsenal to have a bunch of great players whistling.gif . But they showed they can play good football with good teamwork and now maturity, and you can see the results from them now.

On a very off topic matters, England and Bolton legend Nat Lofthouse passed away yesterday, RIP to him. He is a one club man, playing more than 450 games for bolton as a striker, scoring 250+ goals. For England, he scored 30 in 33 appearances, an international goal/game ratio that is far and high above any of the current great strikers.

Since there is no dedicated Bolton thread here (is there?) so i post it here as a close neighbour. nod.gif

graham poll is a joke of the refs. The numbers of shit he made in big matches and tournaments are crazy. and when retire he chosed to continue his bullshit with one of the news agency that always spurt out nonsense to sensationalize their news.

I once said and will say again: If the refs demanded respect, then they better got their jobs and acts right first! If you do your job right, like Perluigi Collina, then respect will come automatically, no need to be demanded. referring like shit, yet still want respect rolleyes.gif
