i give up trying my 2500k at 4.8GHz..
the temperature when crazy when running prime for 40 mins.
this mobo only allow me to enter vcore voltage by this format:
0.01, 0.02, 0.03

does 0.015v make a noticeable difference compared to 0.01v bro?

currently, i'm doing 4.7Ghz at 1.365vcore

trying to do 4.8Ghz, always fail prime (hardware failure)
even i tried up the vcore until 1.4v. haha..

do i have to tweak the ram too? hehe..

might be true, but in my experience stock h50 performs similar to megahalem.. furthermore, im using a modded h50, using distilled water with additional 240 rad..

however im settling down for 4.0ghz.. load temp is around 61C @ 31.6C ambient @ ~108GFlops.. passed 100 loops so far no prob

UPDATE: been searching the net and found out that linpack with AVX @ 4.5ghz does really produce 80ish temp though.. so i think my proc & h50 are doing okay

owikh,dunno what the error code is,but BSOD b4 entering windows...
i just add some vcore...problem solved :

just done prime95 @ 5.0 GHZ with 1.5 vcore . temp roughly @ 80.c .

i try to go for 4.5ghz previously my v.core was set 1.28 for 4.4ghz..then when i go for 4.5ghz my system not stable 4.5ghz @ 1.30v so decided i shud be just happy with my 4.4ghz so i lowered the vcore back to 4.4ghz@ 1.28 but system not stable  ..now i have to put 4.4ghz @ 1.29 then okay..i dont noe why after going to 4.5ghz and lowering it back to 4.4ghz @ 1.28v which i previously was,the system was not stable anymore any ideas anyone? cpu-z shows right now 4.4ghz @ 1.288v after i adjust the vcore to 1.29 seems to be cant go back 1.28v for 4.4ghz im getting BSOD.

since this is my first time building gaming rig and i never do OC in my life before...i would like to ask all experienced ppl in this forum,

what is the good combination for the processor and mobo so i can OC and will explicitly guarantee can run my memory @ 2000 MHz   

i already do research on google and it seems lot people having trouble to run the ddr3 @ 2000 MHZ lot of them have trouble with the voltage ? blue screen ? etc...

so if any of you guys can give a recommendation i would very appreciate it...

I updated my BIOS but same thing, won't POST the moment I hit 4.8GHz. Even reducing BCLK then increasing multiplier also won't POST. Can't figure out what's wrong, maybe someone with a similar motherboard can share some thoughts? Using AsRock Extreme4 Z68. When setting for 4.8GHz motherboard display error code 70.

i wanna ask, can i easily do 4.4ghz for i5 2500k with asrock z60 pro3? cant wait to get my rig this week, bro lingloong is assembling it for me

i wanna ask, why i din set vcore voltage, but when load, CPUID showing 1.36v something like that.. i set turbo mode 4ghz only..

oh.. then i5 2500k stock vcore should be how much? i wanna know the reference so i know how much to tweak. If i oc to 4.4ghz, how many should i set?

in the BIOS easier, no OS freezing (unless too push to the limits)

overclocking need to be patient, increase with small increment and do the stability test, back in 2005/2006, only can do Prime95 which is time consuming, now, can just use LinX, it's fast and pass the 20 run tests, considered stable already.

i dont think overheating or something as i encounter the same prob before
i can pass loops of LinX but i will fail my prime.. was on non-SP1 last time.

SB performance will shine in SP1 coz have AVX instruction enable,so the latest linx will take advantage of it,u easily can get 120++ GFlops with 4.8Ghz...but it will stress all core more than SP0 at the same clock speed..
my chip b4 this can stable @ 5Ghz with 1.4v in SP0...but when i change to SP1 that settings cannot work anymore....even i put 1.45-1.48v i still get BSOD...LOL

better with 1 nvidia 590 or ATI 6990.. if you really rich.. go buy asus mars II

lol, ur chips is really suffer at the moment

normal will do i just OCed for fun...if "k" i scared it will break down easily.  Temp around 60C is it normal? 3.6ghz is like 56c only. (when i play sc 2)
