Just encountered my first webkit browser crash in .461. The browser open two tabs and a out of memory error, then after that it gave me error message of webkit null error and just display a blank screen with address bar at the top. Have to do a batt pull to get the browser to start again.

You'll need to install MySpace, Twitter and Facebook apps on the BB then only you can see it in Social Feed.

Been running the lastest leak for a couple of day (.534). As usual you'll need to shrink it to get it to a acceptable free memory.

With the launch of Opera Mini 6 there is no reason to use the default browser anymore other than for OTA link. So far so good. Pretty rock solid in term stability and battery. BBM cursor no longer an issue as the latest BBM will fix this.

Same here got BB reboot after watching the 2nd youtube video from the browser on the .534

Since I don't watch Youtube that much on my BB I am fine with it. Pretty darn stable if you managed to free up enough RAM by using BB BBOS.

Not yet. I have decided not to upgrade my BB if the revision different is less than .100. So far I am fine on .534. May be when .6xx come up I'll load it. Too much upgrade work since OS6 came out and was tired of it.

.576 no Asian language. So not installed and therefore no comment.

OS6 really takes up a lot of memory. I am just wondering when checking at the memory of the phone, what is the yellow bar which indicates memory used by 'others' usage next to the blue bar application memory usage?
*
Use BB Boss to remove unnecessary files before installing the OS.

The files that I removed are:
1. All unused fonts (Times, Verdana, Tahoma, Thai, Arial, Courier). BB's own fonts are good enough. The new TrueType fonts take up 4-5MB each.
2. Start up video, OTA toolkit
3. Voice activated dialing (seldom used anyway, not suitable for Asian names).

If you don't use the default background screen and ringtones you save additional 8MB.

Normally my memory increased by 20-40MB after those file removed.

Also if you want to use the built in wallpaper, you can select the wallpaper first then remove the wallpaper COD files using BB BOSS. The loaded wallpaper will still be usable until you change to another one.

Hello there bb bros, Do any of you have issue with the signal go 'SOS' frequently after the OS6 upgrade?
*
Yes. But not very frequent. Depend on your signal strength. Mine was SOS for whole night last night until I "off/on mobile network". It went back to normal.

Upgraded to this one last week, initially found out the gps location services app went missing. then resintalled it. for general use it's not a problem at all. just 'sometimes' the device will 'hang' and got to wait before the application can exit etc. on the upside, the device looks prettier now and camera functions easier to reach (flash etc on same page, not in options only)...and if u search for a contact, it will display last call/sms etc with the contact, which is pretty nice.

maybe 9700 memory wasn't designed to use OS6 (vice-versa) but since we want to use it anyway, just have to bear with the glitches (we can't have the best of both worlds!)

if still cannot kautim, have to get the torch or 9780 (more memory!)
*
Do you have BB Apps World problem with this Taiwan load?

is it easier to revert back to OS5 if OS6 got prob..have to backup first is it before change to OS6?
*
You can go back and forth OS5/6 as many time as you want. For the backup you can do a full restore and it should work most of the time. If not just selectively restore your important data.

vouch this.
and btw, .570 works best for me. stable and no more flash problems. smile.gif

anyone tried .600 yet?
*
Tried .600. First thing I noticed is very fast boot up. Less than 3 mins. Around 2 mins+ compared to the previous 5mins+.

The rest haven't see any different.

Which OS6 version?

Did you "shrink" the OS or just install as it?

Try battery pull at least once.

this morning discovered a new icon on the menu.

A Blackberry Travel App

Did you guys also have it?

Nice program.

If you use e-ticket it will add the travel info and post to Calender and share with Linkedin (not FB, sorry this is a business phone).

Work with AirAsia too.

If you are "blocked" by MCMC, use free DNS to bypass.
