why turn it off at the first place?
I read somewhere that the stabilizer reduces image quality

Weird,i tried S95 the other day, since i've heard that people say while in recording mode cannot zoom worh.
But i tried it works well up to 4X too.
I tried Olympus XZ-1 also Hmm seems too big for one palm to take while S95 vry convenient.
My friend now making decision want to get S95 or XZ-1

If video is important... then get either the S95 or the LX5. XZ-1 video mode is super cacat wan.

i believe the 4x zoom in s95 you mentioned was the smart zoom features of s95,which will limit resolution when it zoom
get the s95 if size does matter most to him,get xz-1 if creativity in photography matter most to him

Just found this interesting bit on how to check shutter and flash count on the XZ-1

QUOTE
Basically the process goes:
1.) Hold the Menu button while turning the camera On
2.) Hit Menu and enter the display brightness setup. (Located under the Wrench. It looks like a TV)
You should now see the brightness adjustment bar on the right.
3.) Hold the Info button while pressing Ok
You should now see a black Olympus Screen
3.) Hit (in order) Up, Down, Left, Right, Shutter, Up
4.) Hit Right to see your shutter count R is the shutter count. S is the flash count. There's different info on each of the directions although I don't know if they mean anything useful for the XZ-1.
Just turn the camera off when you're done.

anyone knows whether wide-converter is compatible with xz-1?

Added on August 15, 2011, 3:39 pmThis shop from HK is selling in an amazing price with exclusively complete accessories. I'm attracted but I wonder about the reliability. :S

Oh by the way I think local shops selling from RM1399+ with some basic accessories though. Struggling to decide where to buy

If it's not too much difference, why sacrifice on the peace-of-mind of having warranty. smile.gif

any recommendation on straps which are more fashionable and not really DSLR size? I'm thinking of getting some customization for my gf ^^
