i dont think there is much u can do. if i am in ur situation, i would get two stands to place the rear stats. (edited: deemed too offensive - sorry ) ... let me recheck ur room layout.

can move ur bed to the PC side? So that u can place ur PC at the window and the rear sats at the wall behind u.

All version of Z-680 has the hissing sound, it is just a matter of loud and soft. Maybe you are partially deaf from the blasting you can't hear it.

Did you notice a very beautiful IKEA speaker stand when you visit IKEA? Maybe you can get that for your rear speakers. I will take a picture and show you later tonight.

vickyrao: actually, you can mount your rear right speaker on the wall and get 1 stand for the rear left speaker. True 5.1 speaker placement calls for the rear sats to face your ears, not having the rear speakers behind you.

vickyrao, i dont know if it was you who mentioned this is a rented room and you cant put nails on the walls [someone said this a few pages back, not sure wheter its you] but if your floor plan is accurate, then there should be enough space to swap the bed and the comp table, putting the comp table directly infront of your cupboard. theres a curtain there, i suppose you could leave slight spaces on the sides open for the speaker's [or maybe you can cut the curtains open to let the sound come out ]

this would make an already small room very cramped, but at least you could use the 2 sats of yours.

i can put ther.e..ive thought of it..but do u think it will give nice surround?or is the sound able to reach my ears?ive added an attachment below...pls see that n let me know wat u think?

im using the clip version...n im planning to change all cables to monster thx cables....waiting for delivery now...already ordered online..
anyway the original cables also is very long...can reach quite far.

no...its my own house...i can do anything i want...but i cant swap the bed n the table...one is cos the table is hard to move it as its a glass table....really really heavy.....hard to move around...n ive even i swap it...then i wont have enuf space to walk around at all....cos of my door.

Just for Z680's user. To check your control center's firmware, put your speaker on standby mode first and press the two buttons (input + settings) simultaneously for a few seconds. It will display afterwards.

Mine was.. v1.1.2. but not optical & coax cable.

I don't want a boomy bass. Also not in my budget.
