I tried that, but if I placed it after the motor head, I don't get my pearlings and I think I need to up it to at least 2-3bps for the same effect.
If before the motor head, I get pearlings and a whole tank of oxygen bubbles at only 0.25bps. but even so I'm now considering to change it to after the motor head, because the sound of the air locks is freaking me out... Might do the change tonight actually... |

My otto maximum last only 5 months, after that all will die one by one, I don't know why. 3 batch already...
So now want to get yamato a try... From SLS, the only one who was willing to post and with ready stock. But now, looking at the size of the yamato, I think I got too many for my tank already... They are huge compared to my cherries... I'm the only one among my friends having a planted tank... This post has been edited by radver: Jan 20 2011, 09:37 PM |

Yes it was a bit expensive. But the hair and thread algae was getting on my nerves. Have to clean the tank every 3 -4 days, and seeing 30 cm long strands in my tank was not very pleasing.
But most importantly, I'm going back to Kuala Terengganu on the 5th of February, 3rd day of Chinese new year, so I think most of the LFS will still be closed. And also the toll money and petrol of getting to the LFS from my place is not cheap. As if I want to bring back here, I need to go to SS19 before I go to the airport, which will add another hour to my journey. I usually get them right before the flight so I won't have any casualities. So in my shoes, its not that expensive if you take in consideration all the factors. I got bad experiences with losing cherry shrimps.
But exactly how bad would it be if I put in a few SAE with my cherries??? |

QUOTE(ProX @ Jan 21 2011, 11:35 AM) I have 15 small SAE (~4cm length) in my 5ft with 10 Fire Red Cherry (~8 berried) during the initial stage. After 4 months, I have like ~200 cherries. I guess the shrimplets hide underneath the glosso carpet. |

The Yamato shrimps are damn aggressive when it comes to feeding...
Now I'm afraid my cherries won't have enough to eat and most importantly, the Yamato aren't eating the 30cm long thread algae they were suppose to clean out. Any advice??? |

Added on January 21, 2011, 8:07 pmby the way, i am ordering some item from overseas ... maybe after CNY anyone interested to get anything ? just let me know and i try to find out for u price (including international postage) mostly cheaper than local !! I think I'll just stop feeding them all together, let them finish up the thread algae before I start feeding again. |

QUOTE(douge @ Jan 22 2011, 10:03 AM) Hand carry... For international flight its not allowed, but domestic flight you can carry anything as long as its not metal... I put my fauna in a 500ml mineral bottle, cause plastic bags I think will burst due to the pressure difference. Up until now I've brought ottos and harlequins with this method, no casualty... Caught red handed, but their just growing so fast... remove all algae manually using tooth brush..and let the left over to yamato/SAE/flagfish/etc to eat it.. I'll go and remove them now...
