ermm..mine 3 feet, its took about 1 and half hour to cold down to 26.
and the flow water is so slow..thinking to have another canister to cover the flow...
what do you guys think?
*
3 feet tank with 1000L/h is too slow
My 20inch cube is using eheim 2234 and 2215
I think you need another 1000L/h
How long is your hose from filter to chiller, chiller to tank?
Your filter is fully packed with media?

inlet (filter) -> filter -> outlet (filter) -> Inlet (chiller) -> chiller -> outlet (chiller)

the flow is like this..

Added on May 19, 2011, 7:57 am

which filter that connect to chiller?
hows the performance before and after install chiller?

mine, before this using standard inflow and outflow, then i change to lily pipe 13mm...
*
2215 is connected to the chiller
Hose length: 4feet from tank to filter, 2.5feet from filter to chiller, 4 feet from chiller back to tank
My 2215 is only 60% media because hose length is quite far
Flow rate doesn't seems effect much before/after install chiller

Arh. 2217 need 17mm inlet and 12mm outlet
DO NOT connect tank->chiller->filter->tank
All dirty water will flow into your chiller before filter

Do not block front and back of the chiller
Chiller shall not be placed inside cabinet

Yes. It is possible to connect a pump (submerge/emerge) also can
But both kind of pump will generate much more heat compare to canister

The possibility of getting 2 faulty unit is very small
I think you had to find out the root cause of this prob
Using a timer is not a solution

You won't be reverse connecting the inlet and outlet of chiller right? Lol

"the funny thing is, when the chiller running bout 2 hours and never stop, i will off the switch and on back after 15 minutes, the reading is 26.3 and decrease..before switch off, the reading is 28.0c..."

Lol ~ what's your room temperature? 20.0c?
I haven't read about similar prob like yours.
It should be your equipment setting

I don't understand how does the plastic rim acts like styrofoam?
Just buy a styrofoam similar to your tank size and put bottom
Which kind of mat are you talking about?

I don't think so. The upper picture seems got some algea. But your picture is not clear enough
Bottom pic, seems like your moss not growing well. What's your water temp? How long you planted them?

Here is some tips for different them:
1. SAE has a black line in middle of body, which will extend into it's tail fin.
Adult SAE will has a brighter body color compare to flying fox

2. Flying fox ALSO has a black line which extend to it's tail fin. Adult flying fox will has a yellowish body compare to SAE. The problem is, when they are young, they looks the same! smile.gif
Well I read about some article that teach to diff them. But unfortunate i can't identify my flying fox and SAE

3. chinese algea eater. This fish is similar to flying fox/SAE. the diff is it has a black line on it's body, which WILL NOT extend into tail fins. They are much more active than other 2 brothers

Hope this will clear your doubts a bit

Believe me. You can't diff SAE and flying fox when they are only 1inch long (that is usually the fish size sold by LFS)

If SAE Or flying fox start eating your moss, it is time to find younger ones to replace
Normally I change my SAE once it reach 2 inches
