temp around 27-28'c can grow HC or not?
30gal tank with 54watt

but on a cool day like this can go 26'c
*
54W seems too little for 30Gal... my 5.5Gal d using 24W

HC like cooler temp.... u can try.. but statically it grow better in cooler temp icon_rolleyes.gif

Want to update my tank photo after 3 weeks.

Added on May 18, 2011, 11:34 amjust install chiller, hailea hc 150 a, i wonder why aquarium glass got mist..i set my chiller 25 degree..and how actually this chiller work?
is it set to 25 degree and when temp increase to 26, it will run and maintain back to 25?
*
wohh.. heavy investment .. lolx.. got it how much ?

of course.. coz ur surrounding temp is higher than ur tank (unless u are in cooler air cond room); when warmer air touch ur tank glass(cooler), they become mist (water drip)...

the working theory is same as air cond... icon_rolleyes.gif

new set. 850. i want to put fan, but my tank place at my hall. it doesnt seem nice to have hanging fan.

is there any work around to void the mist? please dont tell me to put aircond at my hall... sad.gif
*
ermm... u know why LRT / KTM / ERL window wont get mist (outside hot inside cold) ? hehe.. solution is there... but not practical for fish tank

so i guess u have to wipe the water manually.. biggrin.gif

haha..not yet put fauna..dont know what happen to them suddenly environment become cold.
*
25C wont froozen ur plant ... lolx.. not that serious la..

for fauna, survey first b4 u buy any smile.gif but i think 25c should be fine for majority fauna too.

just install maa.. tongue.gif
dont know optimal setting for aquarium vs electricity.
do you mind sharing bro.
strange, mine yesterday i set to 27, but it goes to 24.7.
even more strange, my thermometer show reading 23~24..(i never bother since cheap thermometer, not accurate)
then i set to 25 lor. haha
so, is it ok to set 26~27?  hmm.gif

Added on May 18, 2011, 12:22 pm

i agree..but how to explain, office environment that cold and no mist on hot day? only encounter when raining day only.
*
on wat i understand, when u set it to 27, chiller will turn on if temp go higher than 27, so if temp is 27 or lower, it doesnt care tongue.gif

nope.. actually lrt / train have two layer of glass... and something in between... u can check next time..most obvious one is ERL icon_rolleyes.gif

I think you need to check your chiller thermostat
If you set to 27, compressor will only run till 27.0
You are saying that even when you set to 27C, the chiller will run till 24.7C?
The reading is from chiller or external thermometer?
*
u remind me of something that i read b4 this... hahaha

QUOTE
If the water flowrate is too slow, the thermostat will read false reading and cause the chiller to start and stop regularly in short period of time. The reason is because water does not leave the heat exchager fast enough before reaching targeted temperature threshold. As a result chiller with shutting down the compressor. When the warm water from the tank gradually replaces the water inside the chamber, the chiller will start the compressor again.

There are few ways to fix my start/stop problem:
1. Change to more powerful filter or use independent pump.
I don't really like the idea, I felt that my fishes are already struggling with current 1000l/h filter. Other reason is money, new filter is not cheap. Also, I do not like extra pipe.
2. Add external thermostat
I should be able to get external thermocoupler, hook it up and put the sensor inside the tank. That should give better accuracy
.
3. Use external temperature controller
Currently doing DIY temperature controller, will post once it ready.
