QUOTE(alvinz @ Jan 5 2011, 12:20 AM) no same le .. got something different! 256hz & 500hz! .. i just downloaded speedmod k12i ... installing it in the next few mins .. about darky v8, looks tempting but i wan use it with speedmod ... just being skeptical, scared v8 is not as optimized as working in speedmod over voodoo ... I think I'm gonna try Darky v8.0 with voodoo, see hw it goes then speedmod K12i 500Hz

QUOTE(Narako @ Jan 5 2011, 01:15 AM) hey guys.. i am using darky 8.0 with voodoo lag fix. so can i just follow the installation guide to install speedmod kernel? http://touristinparadise.blogspot.com/2010...to-install.htmlfollowing this guide there's an easier way: download CWM version of Speemod. then flash it via CWM. but make sure u disable voodoo first, I think it's disabled by default in v8.0

QUOTE(nasrulbond @ Jan 5 2011, 01:36 AM) i can say, maybe this is the best option for good battery life for me somehow. im a game addict, cannot tahan kalau see the battery drain quickly when playing the games. haha, btw u're still with 7.0? it's good already but depends on what games u playing too.. I have the best battery life with Speedmod's kernels. yep, still on 7.0 nw waiting for my phone to be fully charged. u're still on 7.7? Added on January 5, 2011, 1:40 amQUOTE(freakfingers12 @ Jan 5 2011, 01:37 AM) Oh I never disable lagfix. The reason u have to disable lagfix if ur using different configurations like from ext2 to ext4. Voodoo and speedmod by default is ext4, so you don't have to disable previous lagfix. new speedmod on default is ext4 not rfs?? EDIT: just noticed thanks for the clarification This post has been edited by ken2291: Jan 5 2011, 01:42 AM

QUOTE(MYstombox @ Jan 5 2011, 02:45 AM) Before darkky -> I started flashing on 7.8 I was using ULK, at first it was really fast. Then after a while it become slow like %!$#. I thought it was just my network getting slow (internet based stuff) then my friend in sg also told me his phone is now a tortoise. So I don't think its the apps or internet connection rather than the kernel itself. It was so laggy that yahoo mail took forever to load and I couldn't even reply/read mail. It was that laggy. which kernel? Added on January 5, 2011, 2:48 ambooted into Darky 8.0 alvinz This post has been edited by ken2291: Jan 5 2011, 02:48 AM

QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Jan 5 2011, 10:19 AM) Actually, as far as I remember, matte is smoother for swiping and other finger movements compared to naked. Really smooth. Speaking for recent experience, and a bit off-topic, I regret installing clear SP for my 64GB iPad - makes it hard to play games that need lots of finger swipes. The iPad before this one, the 16GB one, had a matte SP and everyone (my colleagues, my son, myself) loved playing games on it. Planning to tear off the clear and install a new matte SP.. So guys and gals, you want nice display, go for clear. You want smooth swipes, go for matte.. SP are evil Too bad we cant have the best of both worlds use matte then sacrifices SAMOLED, use clear sacrifices swipe

QUOTE(nasrulbond @ Jan 5 2011, 06:22 PM) ken and gajahwhite, i already did the test scratch with a key lat night and i found that the gorilla glass is hard to be scratch. but its just that, the smudges are really visible rather than when i was using matte sp. aiyoyo After I had a hairline scratch wif my screen, it's SP for me a key or not, better to be safe than sorry. lol but still, the naked screen is the best

Why samsung? wHy? so that they can easily achieve their update promise by doing it easily to Gingerbread Added on January 6, 2011, 10:11 amI wondering battery doctor does any good or not.. with the same settings, it drains my batt more than it should overnight, like 9%. QUOTE(alvinz @ Jan 6 2011, 10:46 PM) li-ion batteries .. u have to charge it a few cycles before it reaches its optimal usage level, since urs is just a new set .. start judging after 3~4 charges, and rmb dont fully deplete the battery as its not good for li-ion batteries .. darky's rom, just download .. put in sd card and install through cwm, the zip file includes scripts to overwrite ur phone's system changing its firmware and pit files ... so no worries and just flash ... too giganto! .. not nice at all ... lol pls shut up freakfingers12 .... go try upgrade urself before talking nonsense ... 3g watchdog only shows data usage .. i am not sure about the pro version though ... credit check i think u gotta check manually or iirc, *100# - bla bla bla .. @ken, we back on same track again ... wahahahhaa I'm on 256Hz again Added on January 7, 2011, 9:47 amcan anyone tell me how to do the config for GPS again?? the xxx config thing to be changed for our GPS. QUOTE(alvinz @ Jan 7 2011, 10:51 AM) havent tested gps after i flashed darky v8, u can be the white rat 1st de ma .. haha .. just backup and prepare darky v8 wipe version ... btw, darky v8 wifi modem is using JPA's or JPY's? actually don have to backup and prepare wipe version to try the GPS, it wont do any harm v8 should be using JPA I think, since v7 (correct me if I'm wrong). But I flash JPA's modem since it's in my phone Added on January 7, 2011, 11:20 amQUOTE(cloud666 @ Jan 7 2011, 10:58 AM) my sgs menu button light not as bright as back button, the difference very obvious, is it a defect? same brightness here, can provide pics??
