also, installed liquorix in this notebook..running fine...but then the next few reboot it will got those

"setting up fstab" ...and stuck there won't move or any activities ... weird issue..

it's ext4..seems there will be some searching to do now

Added on February 4, 2011, 10:56 amweird..after followed as what they mentioned using UUID it still won't boot, still stuck at setting up fstab, while "official" kernel doesn't have any problems..

probably it doesn't compatible with my laptop I guess, it's an intel gma 965 series...

those who with nvidia cards, you guys using nouveau or nvidia-restricted drivers?

care to post some stuff if you guys do tests it?

9800gt, currently using nvidia restricted for ubuntu 10.10

from the day i got my aspireone netbook i straight wipe it out and installed ubuntu netbook

ok...I got this issue that made me headache on what actually causing it..

haven't used linux mint 10 since few days, and today when I try to boot it...it went smoothly like usual, then it stuck on

[hostname]tty1[hostname] login

then I can't even type my username/password...

After that I hard reboot, and going to recovery mode, it went well..until it reaches the menu like "resume, clean"..etc..then suddenly it jumps off and goes to blank screen..

and it just shows



wth? I can't even access to console menu in recovery..

just curious..how to know that hardware acceleration actually being used under optimus machine, which the linux alternative is iron-hide .

Anyone tried Linux Mint 12? I just tried on my laptop, and it's a Acer Aspire 4750G (i5 with nvidia optimus)...and what straight of the box problems are
- temperature problem.
- wifi not working
- and some other issues.

I read ironhide isn't working for 11.10/LM 12 ..?

I guess I will give it a try later.

weird, both distro i tried on are f16 and lm12..both seems have temperature issue..

on sandy bridge 2nd gen i5 laptop

yeah, it's nvidia optimus with i5

I just updated my bios so there's "switchable" option in the bios .

Right now I tried to install F16 on this laptop, with only integrated display..then
"dracut Warning: No root device "live:/dev/disk/by-label/Fedora-16-x86_64-Live-Desktop.is" found"

Using live usb creator to create the usb disk..but it works fine when I tried to run and install on my AMD desktop ..

Then I run a quick google seems a lot issues too, on those with sandybridge
