Considering LMDE is not so hit compare to Mint 10, the downtime is acceptable. Mint 10 final, most of their webpage, forum, blog etc  downed for almost a week!  shakehead.gif

well, just kill it. Now this is the time we try something different other than ubuntu. Long term relationship with ubuntu is not good for your health. Still Mint 10 is a forked version of Maverick, it won't too hard for you to handle they used the same the commands such as apt-get or ppa.
*
The thing is , too many ppa's O.O not gonna list all again rite ==

Mint is working at fullest out of the box, you have the working restricted multimedia codecs i.e flash, libdvdcss, w32codecs, adobe... without any hassle to find link or additional ppa to get them to work.

Yup laugh.gif lucky i downloaded the DVD version nod.gif Not much diff with the CD version though

Phew , found the page that i wanted to share laugh.gif

How to customize the clock applet in Ubuntu shocking.gif

If youre bored with the old-fashioned long-space-consuming and boring clock applet display , try this :

How to change GNOME clock applet theme

1.Press ALt+F2

2.Type: gconf-editor

3.Hit return

4.Navigate to “Apps > Panel > Applets > Clock_Screen* > Prefs”

(* this may be under a different name, just look for the applet that has the correct ‘prefs’ folder)

5.Double-click on the ‘Format’ value. Change it to ‘custom’.

6.Double click on the ‘Custom Format’ field and paste in the code from one of the styles below.

7.Hit return once again and enjoy!

Use any font installed on your system by changing the font on the codes from ‘ubuntu’ to that of your choice (Sans, DroidSans, etc).

Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook Edition users can also tweak Indicator-datetime by following the instructions here .

You need hit return only if your gconf-editor starts at another folder nod.gif If its in default and not displaying any open folder , return key can be skipped
