Sony Ericsson UK have officially confirmed with us this morning that the Xperia X10 family (including the X8) will not see an Android firmware revision above 2.1 (Éclair). Whilst the company’s new line of Xperia phones will launch with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), the X10 will not be supported past Android 2.1. The company instead plans to release smaller updates (like the multitouch upgrade) that will come in the next few months.
Sony Ericsson confirmed that the new handsets have a lighter SE skin and that its own modifications (including Timescape, Mediascape) have been decoupled to ensure that updates will be much more timely compared to what current Xperia X10 and X10 mini owners have had to endure. The current software builds of the X10 family are not built this way, which means Android 2.1 is the last version that will be supported. source: www.xperiax10.net/ This post has been edited by villa07: Jan 7 2011, 12:38 AM |

QUOTE(abundai @ Jan 12 2011, 01:14 PM) maybe smaller company wants to capture more market by giving top notch support and software update to their customer... yeah! i agree! SE is quite big n having a strong brand name..thus the brand itself can help to sell a product... not all buyers are tech savvy like most of us... subconciously, a normal buyer would simply buy a phone simply becos of of its brand...and of course, looks... ever wonder why some people would buy the most expensive phones when they knew the phone has quite a lot of limitation like file sharing, no homescreen customisation, poor antenna design etc? cos buying a phone is more than just comparing the specs.. other stuff plays an important roles too... |

QUOTE(abundai @ Feb 1 2011, 11:59 AM) which custom rom? i'm using high performance kx10for xrecovery, u'll need to root first... then install xrecovery untill u get the 3 checks mark (during installation) you can also use the flashtools... while ur phone is switched on, plug in the usb cable... then in flashtool, try to connect til it says connected with no errors... from the flashtool gui, try rooting and install xrecovery... is it safe to reinstall back the xrecovery? |

QUOTE(mikeeeee @ Feb 1 2011, 12:18 PM) villa , u need xrecovery version 0.2 or higher cuz your phone is known as x10HD. It has an extra mtdblock that causes the previous xRecovery to fail. i have installed 0.2 version just go download the latest from Z's thread if not mistaken version 0.3 and reinstall it and you will be fine but that prob still persist.. is it safe to reinstall back? Added on February 1, 2011, 12:28 pmsory mikee..i noticed ur advice to reinstall back..thanx alot! This post has been edited by villa07: Feb 1 2011, 12:28 PM |

QUOTE(mikeeeee @ Feb 1 2011, 12:30 PM) u installed version 2, then u install custom rom right ?? yup..i've tried but still cannot..stuck at SE logo..do i need to reinstall back busybox from the market?if that is correct, then the xRecovery from the custom rom have over written your 0.2 with a non compatible xRecovery. Just use the 0.3 all unified 1. I think in future all custom rom will have this unified xRecovery im afraid bcoz b4 this i tried froyo semi stable..but after reinstall back busybox it becomes crazy with notification that force to close Added on February 1, 2011, 12:57 pmproblem solved! just used flashtool, reroot, then instal xrecovery using the gui inside the flashtool credit to @abundai thanx man!
