50GB is plenty to go for most people.

You're already getting 10X of what the mobile broadband users are getting or even more when they can live with a 3GB or less quota.

Now the question is can TM maintain a good quality service once this is implemented?

Those who are currently on 4mbps plan you should stay and not downgrade/upgrade your packages because your previous contract did not have this VL clauses.

Just throttled p2p for both unifi and streamyx :-) so less congestion into the network

3. Limited Bandwidth (60GB per month)
- Difference bandwidth limit for difference packages. Example like 384Kbps (60GB), 512Kbps (120GB), 1Mbps (240GB), 4Mnps (480GB) and so on for unifi.
- It must be a monthly basis and not daily (2GB a day). As if I doesn't use the Internet in a week then I would still have my 60GB bandwidth for the next week and not losing the ( 7 days x 2GB = 14GB) especially when there was connection down time (phone line been stolen or something).
- No more Fair Usage Policy where certain traffic was slowed down like P2P (I am not a P2P user anymore) because we have our limited bandwidth.
- A website for user to monitor their bandwidth usage.
- Speed been slow down after reaching bandwidth limit and not totally unaccessible to Internet.
- Plan for users to buy additional bandwidth.

Slowing down p2p will generate more money for VPN admins. However TM also want to see what is inside the tunnel. So how about no more p2p in Malaysia?

For almost 10 years of Streamyx, we're now downgrading.......and they still offred the same packages and same prices for their DSL services.......for almost 10  years.........and now they want control their bandwidth and we still pay the same amount of money? wtf?

Come on TM, upgrade your facility then we talk about managing bandwidth.......the case here is not the hogging users.........its about TM, they dont have spare bandwidth but still wants to roll out HSSB.....fcuk i hate monopoly...~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Typical excuses. Blame the public when they themselves refuse to evolve. No amount of 'bandwidth management' can resolve the situation if they refuse to improve their infrastructure. New users are being registered each day, how long will this last before their servers are jammed again and the same thing happens. This cycle will never end I'm afraid.

i think they will force all streamyx use to sign new contract.. as u mention.. let say your streamyx combo package is 2 years, like me.. but now my contract is over but still paying combo price    FML

TM will sure come out some attractive deal soon without auto upgrade like last time.This would be their trick..

Maybe give a speed boost like free upgrade for 4mbps users to 5mbps, 2mbps to 3mbps, 1mbps to 2mbps, 512kbps to 1mbps and phase out the 384kbps.Then they'll require you to head down to TM Point to sign the new agreement..
Or something much cheaper for the same speed.

I guess whatever and however enticing the deal is NEVER give in and renew it.There will be a trap waiting for you and it's going to be similar to Unifi's which states clearly that volume cap will be implemented whenever as they please.

we're already the slowest of all in asia and the most expensive
youtube HD also cannot stream smoothly with 4Mbps
and TM still want to cap it to 512Kbps?....streaming video would be pain in the ass
how are we moving forward like this if we keep capping
we should be increasing speed and decreasing price....or even maintain price also i already satisfied
just look at SG....most of their package already reach the max of international bandwith = 15-25Mbps...local no need say la

- Let the speeds be fast as it was before the mess began.
- 30-40GB monthly limit for 1Mbps streamyx users (Price= RM88 or less nationwide + STANDARDIZED)

Or they should give up there ADSL completely. Why? because someone here they said they want to focus more on Unifi and less on Streamyx (correct me if I'm wrong) sell there asset or open their line to other ISP's, so we will see a much more competitions. After all, TM is part of government.

Yeah, road terminology and internet is basically the same... you make a small (bandwidth), crappy road(our line), have to many obstacle roads(fud). you will have a traffic jam

Well, on a side note, terms and condition should not change without notice.

We sign the package bcoz terms and conditions it stated unlimited, and it change to isp allowed to change t&c time to time

Most probaly this issue will hit Dewan Rakyat in any time as we speak :-)

Streamyx is going in the right direction. You see, with direction, you need destination and their destination is more money (unifi) and less bandwidth (fup). Of course that's fuped up for all of us and the entire country. Government is not backing us up, but rather calling them, "not monopoly".

I already said before. ISP handled by The Monkeys fails. They care more on making money than providing better service. I guess I'll be downgrading to 512kbps if they decide to go hardcore FUP.
