How's d performance for NAS and streaming for the 1185 chipset? I'm looking for media player and focus on NAS, torrent and file streaming function.

I have upgrade my R1-II to the latest firmware firmware and found out few problem..

1) can't eject drive

2) Can't view youtube..

Please help..

How do you revert to older firmware?

I installed 2.1.2.7 on my R100 and it keeps rebooting.

I'm getting my unifi install soon, would like to get a media player for online streaming etc. I'm interested to get Egreat or HDPro+, can anyone help me out which model i should consider with LAN & wireless is a must. I presume it can play most of the audio/video format. Thanks in advance

I bought an R1-II yesterday. I had a WD TV Live before but I changed because it doesn't handle the DTS-HD in pass-through mode.
I tried to check this functionality with this new media player but it seems the same thing happens. The AV Receiver(Denon 1910) detects as only DTS instead of DTS-HD. I chose the RAW setting in Audio menu so I don't know what is the problem. Anyone can help me?

I have a Egreat R6B and have recently connected it to a 7.1 A/V amp. Can you please advice if the R6B is capable of 7.1 DTS output as I seem to only be getting 5.1.

I figured out how to change firmware the failsafe way, in case the one you are using is not stable. In my case, version 2.1.2.7 (6 Jul 2011) on my R100 caused it to reboot about 10 seconds into the menu.

The only working version is the one that came with the product - 1.0.5.3 (13 May 2011).

1. With the unit not yet powered up and TV display turned on, insert USB thumbdrive with install.img placed in the root folder.

2. While pressing the "restore" button on the left side, power up the unit and wait.

3. After about 30 seconds, the TV display should indicate that it is updating the firmware. Release the "restore" button and wait for the update to complete.

4. The unit will reboot, and the updated firmware version can be verified in the menu.

I posted my concern with the firmwares released not being usable in my unit in this forum, but I'm disappointed with the response. Doesn't help in my impression of Egreat products.

Audio for HDMI setting is RAW. Do not use SPDIF RAW setting for DTS HD audio. Make sure the movie file you are playing is containing DTS HDMA audio track.

I did the same as you advice. In the past I checked this movie with another media player(Popcorn) and it worked. Anyway with audio selection button I can choose DTS-HD track, but the result is still only DTS(after pushing the info button Egreat detects also only DTS). The HDMI cable is proper. I used it for my BluRay player before. The receiver settings are also proper because I used the same just like in case of BD player, and Popcorn. So I'm running out of ideas.

One of the sellers here say that the Realtek 1055 chip can output 7.1. How come the egreat one can't? Please note I am connecting via HDMI.

Bro...

Ok I find out what was the problem. I wrote this notice to help anybody who need.

Audio:
HDMI output: RAW

Advanced:
Dolby True HD output: 7.1
DTS-HD output: 7.1

...and the most important thing!!! AFTER SELECTING 7.1 AS DTS-HD OUTPUT YOU NEED TO REBOOT THE SYSTEM(NOT RESTART).

The reboot button is on the right side of the player(a little hole). For me it didn't worked, so I had to try a trick. I did the proper settings and after that I updated the system with the current firmware again, because after the update the system reboot itself autmatically and try to use the same settings as before.

Sorry I don't know. But I don't think this version is stable.
After upgrading I had had to downgrade to v2.1.5.8.

To Sifus here,

i just bought a Egreat R100 player yesterday, tested it and found that my movies blinks ever few minutes. (.mkv files) At the middle of the movie, after a blink, the sound gone too. since above comment is not to update to latest firmware, what should I do? I can still change it with the seller if this cant be resolved

Fixed:

1. BD-ISO external subtitle support
Put external subtitle file and BD-ISO file into the same folder,and change to same name,player will automatic loading external subtitle,eg:
Folder

|---Transformers.iso
|---Transformers.eng.srt
Note: Regarding BD-ISO external subtitle language,player will judge and display according to the subtitle file extension.eg,
Transformers.chs.srt means it is for Simplified Chinese;
Transformers.eng.srt means it is for english subtitle.

2. BDMV external subtitle support:
Subtitle file should be put into the directory same as BDMV files, and must use the same folder name as previous folder.then player will automatic loading BDMV external subtitle. eg:
Transformers

|---CERTIFA
|---BDMV
|-index.srt
Note:Index.srt external subtitle should be put into BDMV folder,then can be loaded automatically too.

BDMV subtitle priority is here:
1)，Transformers.eng.srt, this kind of subtitle is highest priority ;
2)，index.srt,this kind of subtitle is second priority.
3)，PGS embeded subtitle, if above two kinds of subtitle isn't exist,then system will load the first PGS embeded subtitle.
4),all external subtitle is prior to be loaded;embed subtitle will be loaded unless there is no external subtitle exist;if can't judge then player will load the first embeded subtitle.

3,Optimize“Subtitle encoding detection” function.
During playback files, default subtitle coding language will be set according to OSD language. eg:
OSD language is simplified Chinese, then will load "GBK" coding;
OSD language is English,then will load “Unicode(UTF8)” coding.

4,Default subtitle color changed to pure white(255，255，255).

5. Added "Auto Play" function.
The use method: Under USB flash,SD card or HDD root directory, create "autophoto","automusic","automovie " three seperate folder,and put those files should be play automatically,then the player will play automatically those files from above folders once power on.

*Navigate to "Setup---Advanced----Startup Auto-Play", user can select auto play type(movie,music,picture);
* If need slide show with music background, pls save some background music under "autophoto" folder.
*After power on, player will auto play the first device which be scanned from autophoto,automusic,automovie folder.

6,Added web browser function.
Use method:
*Egreat web browser support HTML5, can perfect supprot web video based on HTML5.
*Egreat web browser support RC/USB mouse,detail method is as below:

1) use RC to view webpage
OK button: access or link the selected menu;
MENU button: popup browser address bar, in the address bar,you can input any website for access;
RED button: switch webpage modes, there are two different web browsering mode:
Page mode: up/down/left/right key can move the whole web page;
Navigation mode:up/down/left/right key can move the web focus,eg navigate to the focus and press "ok" to access the webpage for view.
PREV/NEXT button: function is same as IE browser back/forward.

2) Use USB mouse to browse webpage
After access web browser,user can use USB mouse to browse webpage,use method is same as PC.eg:
Move the mouse to control the cursor movement, the left key for choice, right for the popup menu,from popup menu, can select go back/fresh etc.

If need popup address bar,pls press Menu button from the RC.
*Browser menu explaination:
Address bar: move the cursor into the bar,press ok to popup screen keyboad,input web address;
Go button:after input web address,move the cursor to go icon or press "play/pause" to open the webpage.
PREV button:go back
NEXT button:forward.
REFRESH button:fresh current webpage
STOP button:stop loading webpage.
PAGE MODE button:switch from webpage mode and navigate mode.
BOOKMARK button:add bookmark or access bookmark.

Under playback mode,
1,Press one number of the RC, player will jump to that corresponding percentage to play;
eg, press 6,then player will jump to 60% of this file to continue playing.
2,Press two different number of the RC,player will jump to that corresponding percentage to play;
eg, press 6 and 8, then player will jump to 68% of this file to continue playing.
3,Press several number keys continuously, player will jump to the last two numbers corresponding percentage to play;
eg press 6/8/5/2, player just jump to 52% of the file to continue playing.
