Yea... who are not using TWLauncher will not notice this, I tried on Zeam and LauncherPro, it won't affect at all, but not for TWLauncher...

But can I ask, if on Touchwiz, not killing Contacts from Task Manager will prevent the issue from happening, yes? Then why not just don't kill Contacts?

Just found a problem with Darky 6.0. Google Maps opens with FC - in fact anything to do with GM like Navigation, Maps all FC. Damn. Lucky I have Titanium Backup set completed just this morning. Am gonna flash a fresh stock XXJPX first, then CF-Root, and finally apply Darky 6.0 again.

Hmm, maybe it was because when I was on 5.6, I had applied a market update for Google Maps.

Jumping from jp6/jpo/jpm to jpu/jpx will give you a superb improvement in speed. At least for me it did.

You mean it's slow ka? I think perhaps because voodoo lagfix is disabled by default in Darky 6.0?

Dun agree with that... it feel same as JPU to be honest..
*
Well, for me Darky 6.0 (JPX+nolagfix) feels ever so slightly slower than Darky 5.6 (JPU+lagfix). Have enabled voodoo lagfix again, coz speed is addictive. tongue.gif

u enable both data and system lagfix?

Do u have battery drop once u unplug from fully charge?
*
Yep, both data and system lagfixes are on.

Not sure about the batt level thingy - I have 2 batteries (1 ori and 1 USD9.99 so-called 1800mah from aliexpress.com) so I leave my phone charging every night and turn it off in the morning to swap the battery. This way I always have a fully charged standby batt.

*
Boss pulak. Well, I am not a big user of GPS (don't quite need this in Penang island) - the only time I use it is when I Foursquare. So far, JPU and JPX roms give the quickest position locks and if I am not mistaken, more accurate than earlier firmwares too.

hi @kmrdeva, how is the 1800mah battery performance? It can lasts longer than SGS standard 1500mah batt? Thinking of buying one as well coz I am traveling and thought it might be useful on a 6 hours flight.
*
So far so good. Lasts a bit longer than the ori. With ori batt, I usually have only 20% left by the time I get home about 10pm. With the china batt, about 40% is left when I arrive home.

A lot of basic functions not working yet. I can't even think of trying this as the SGS is my main device, not a spare toy.

Not exactly as soon as you unplugged the cable. But it does drop to 99% faster than previous 2.2 firmwares
*
Personally, I feel that this 1-2% instant drop is not a big issue.. I see this happening on my phone too.

It won't remove any apps, you can update from 5.6.

But if you're facing FC or problems, try clean install
*
Actually, coming from a clean stock JPU then flashed to clean stock JPX and then Darky 6.0, I did notice 1 small bug or issue - when going to Settings / Display / Wallpapers / Lock Screen Wallpaper / Gallery, I get process com.android.settings FC everytime. Probably it's pointing to stock gallery app and Darky has removed that in favour of the modded gallery app?

Added on December 21, 2010, 2:40 pmOh yeah, one more thing. Had a very interesting experience flashing fresh XXJPX. Everytime I flash using ODIN, with 512 pit and repartition checked, the phone would finish and boot with non stop vibrations.

Had to flash XXJPU with 512 pit and repartition checked, then flash XXJPX without pit and without repartition to get it up to JPX without issues.

Lock Screen Wallpaper FC because that option is for TouchWiz, but darkyy changed it to AOSP lock screen so the option won't work.
I usually flash to elcair stock then flash to darkky.
*
I see, I guess that must be why.. smile.gif Thanks for explaining, bro.

Stock Eclair.. wow, feels like so long ago. tongue.gif

You do Eclair followed by Darky because you want the 2e recovery menu (in order to apply Darky), yes? How about CF-Root, do you still use after going to Darky or is Darky already pre-rooted?

I actually did JPU via ODIN -> JPX via ODIN -> CF-Root via ODIN -> CWM update.zip via 2e -> Darky 6.0 zip via CWM. Indian ma, I like long winded process.. tongue.gif tongue.gif

After all those steps, did u wipe data and cache prior to custom installation?

Which CF-Roots u use, as i notice chainfire did not come out a CF-root for JPX.
*
Didn't wipe anything, because I flash flash flash only, no config done until I got up to Darky 6.0.

JPX cf-root is available at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...908&postcount=3

However, i successful connect to my laptop after install KIES.  biggrin.gif

You're wrong there. I never installed Kies before. I am using the SGS drivers from Softpedia.com for my Windows laptop (Win7 32bit). At home, I just enable usb_debugging to access the phone from my Linux (Ubuntu 10.04 64bit and 10.10 64bit) computers.

You can always consider paying for paid version. Rockplayer is tied to your IMEI (i.e. activation).

Rockplayer is too expensive, charging ppl USD10.

If it is USD2, then I will buy it..  biggrin.gif
*
Ha ha, ya, it's kinda expensive. Most expensive piece of crap on Android that I have paid for - I must have been crazy or stupid (or both) to pay USD9.99 for it especially since I don't play RMVB or other non-AVI/MKV files on my phone. Stuttering video playback and it eats battery too unless you enable hardware-decode mode, which makes it no different than the stock player, especially now that the stock player in JPU/JPX supports subtitles..

Plus to add salt to injury, the IMEI-based activation means that I cannot move the bloody license to a diff phone.

If only I can transfer the purchase to someone else.. shakehead.gif
