Disappointing is all I could say. People are raving about Man Utd's defense. To be honest, an assessment on how good or how bad their defense were is absolutely moot. Simply because we didn't even test how good or how bad their defense was. We were that pathetic going forward. How f*cking static were our players. The movement which we pride ourselves with so often and is the catalyst of how we play was absolutely zero. I don't know if its the players who can't be arsed to run around or was Arsene trying to be too clever altering our usual approach. I'm absolutely disgusted by the performance either way.
However, all is not lost though. Winning the league isn't all about how well you do against the other Big 4 clubs. Its how well you do against the other 16 teams. |

Gah I'm still seething from this morning. Walcott was the only positive from the attacking front IMO. Looks to be slowly creeping back to his early season form. Stretched United a little with the "movement" everyone left at home and caused a few problems.
Anyway, some positives. Despite the loss I thought Koscielny was superb and has shown great signs of improvement. Frustrated Rooney and has really great feet for a defender. Can't wait till Vermaelen comes back, we might have a really tasty defensive pairing in the making. Pretty decent debut for the boy Chesney. Excellent shot stopping apart from a dodgy kick early on. Still needs a little work on his distribution. Aerial ability still untested though. Would be interesting to see how he deals with aerial balls under pressure against aerial challenges from the likes of Andy Caroll, Carlton Cole, Kaboul etc etc. |

Tsk tsk tsk. Am actually looking forward to face Barca.
Can't believe we are already being written off by some people, even more astonishingly some of our own fans. Many may take last year's clash as an example but don't forget we were without 5 first team regulars for the 2nd leg and with an almost full squad, bar Van Persie, were on more than equal terms with them at The Emirates. I for one am convinced that had we brought the same squad to the Camp Nou we would have sneaked a win. Either way this is the best possible draw for us but the worst possible draw for Barca IMO. If we win then it would be a big boost to our season and European credentials by knocking out the favorites of the tournament and one many regard as the best team in the world. If we lose, no harm done, its just as people expected and we can concentrate on the league and the other Cups that we are still in by then. Stoke next. Hopefully the lads will put in a performance to show that they are still interested in the League. Hate to say it but I'll be rooting for Chelsea this weekend. Some may feel a draw will be the best result but I disagree. Someone needs to defeat Man Utd IMO. A draw would still render them unbeaten and I personally do not like it that as each game goes by they are still unbeaten. |

Picture just outside the Emirates
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « So just when we needed to play and win the most and bounce back snow comes down and f*cks us over. Not good. Chelsea next. Seriously what happened to the days when players used to treat blizzard like conditions like just rain and play with an orange ball? This post has been edited by sigheart: Dec 18 2010, 08:36 PM |

Another goalkeeping prospect. This kid must have something to earn such high praise from the divine ponytail himself. Guess we will just have to wait and see.
"He is the fastest learning keeper I have ever seen" QUOTE Former Arsenal star David Seaman has revealed that he has high hopes for Gunner’s youngster James Shea. Shea, 18, was the number 1 in Arsenal’s triumphant 2008/2009 FA Youth Cup and Premier Academy League ‘double' wining-side earning himself a new long-term contract at the club. Shea has been a regular for the reserves but has yet to break into the first team due to the competition of Manuel Almunia, Lukasz Fabanski, Wojciech Szczesny, however former Gunner Seaman believes he has a bright future at the club. Shea was also rewarded for his progress when he was asked to help out with the England squad who were training at the Gunner's facilities earlier this year, with Shea training one-on-one with Manchester City's Joe Hart. Seaman has helped Steve Bould and Arsene Wenger coach the younger goalkeepers at the club, and the former England number 1 was full of praise for the starlet. “He is developing really well, and I must say, he is the fastest learner I have ever seen as a goalkeeper. “ Seaman told Sport.co.uk. “Last season you would say something to James on the training ground and he would immediately put it into practice, literally he is the fastest learning keeper I have ever seen.” “He would implement something into his game straight away. It was really impressive. His time will come, whether it is at Arsenal or not, I don’t know, but he is a good prospect, as of course is Wojciech Szczesny.” Sauce This post has been edited by sigheart: Dec 20 2010, 07:54 PM |

I'm feeling really really good about this game. On paper we have a much stronger team. Hopefully it will turn out to be the case at the end of 90 mins.
I have never seen such a weak Chelsea bench since Roman took over the club. No Anelka today as well. Now is our best chance to end the jinx IMO. |

No matter how you look at it Nasri and a few others like Sagna and perhaps Wilshere and Song who all played a full 90 mins against Chelsea are due a rest. Eboue, Rosicky, Denilson and Diaby could all come in and I reckon we would still be good enough to beat Wigan IMO. Its not a matter of belittling Wigan but really, the players are not robots.
My probable lineup: ------------------Fabianski------------------ Eboue----Squillaci----Koscielny-----Clichy ---------------Song/Denilson------------------- -------Rosicky---------------Diaby------------ Walcott-------------------------------Arshavin ------------Van Persie/Chamakh-------------- I have a feeling Squillaci will start this one. Arsene did highlight that Squilacci was not dropped and Djourou was played against Chelsea purely for tactical reasons. Personally I'd hate to drop Djourou at the moment IMO but don't be surprised if Squillaci is reinstated. |

Almost got my lineup prediction right.
Team: Fabianski, Sagna, Squillaci, Koscielny, Rosicky, Denilson, Arshavin, Eboue, Chamakh, Bendtner, Diaby On paper certainly doesn't looks as strong as the Chelsea team. But I still feel that its strong enough to beat Wigan. Hopefully the attitude is right tonight. |

We were so freaking lucky. What a horrifying performance. Arshavin has been absolutely horrendous in that first half hour. Thank God he has that bit of magic to pull us through that excruciating first half performance.
Denilson's passing and tackling is an embarassment, Bendtner is not a winger FFS and Eboue is no left back. Gosh. Don't get me wrong I'm really thankful that we have the lead. But please. Focus till the full 90 mins is up. We still look shaky when Wigan hit us on the break and the sooner we get that 3rd goal the better. |

Wenger might just have lost us the league right there. Well done with the team selection IMO. I don't mind resting players. But please replace them with players in the right position.

So Mancini has confirmed both David Silva and Balloteli will miss the game against us. Missing Silva in particular will be a big blow for them IMO.
Then again City are still a very strong side. No counting of chickens before the eggs hatch please. I remember some people and forummers here treating the Wigan game as though the FA are better off just awarding us the 3 points rather than stage the game. I don't think I need to elaborate further on what happened next. |

Well we will see abt it.
However my ultimate prediction for the season is West Ham not gonna win the EPL. Nothing personal, it's all about the game. |
