If i wan to do installment, can i call out maybank customer support and ask them to make it as an installment plan for 1 year.
Does they provide 0% interest or not?
*
If you ask for a conversion for a purchase to installment plan from any bank, most of the time it'll be never be 0% ... Period.
The only exception to this is CIMB installment plan for education and medical fees if I'm not mistaken.

Understand the concept of transaction and posting. While the transaction has occurred, the merchant need to post the transaction (to claim) before the card holder will see the transaction in their account.

Just to note ... you can't really "apply" HSBC Premier MC just because you want to. You need to "earn" it.

i'm not sure if this is a silly question, but i'm going to ask anyway, is it possible to do partial BT? Eg: i have an installment plan with hsbc for my iphone which i intend to continue, so say tomorrow i go swipe 10k, issit possible to just BT that 10k (without touching my iphone installment) to say AMEX?
*
Trying hard to understand what are you trying to say. Let's try
When you do installment ... the lump sum already become small payment. So it will look weird that you are actually BT more than what you owe to the bank right ? Unless of course you intend to close the other cc then might as well terminate the installment plan and do a full BT.

On another note, I hope all the folks here will be mindful on how they present their fact about the BT waiver. I'm concerned that there's increasingly many want cards with free GST. IMHO, the real consideration would be to use cc which best suit your lifestyle. E.g SCB Titanium does not have free GST waiver but I'm very sure folks who has it does not cancel it, pay the GST and become the envy of those who can't apply for it.

I don't want to sound harsh but if you can't pay RM50 then please don't bother to use cc. Use cash.
CC rewards you when you spend ... never ever chase a cc just because of the freebies. You are unlikely to have a happy ending that way.

Hi people, I'm quite new at this credit card stuff
Currently I'm holding a RHB platanium and I plan to change to other banks that offers better cash back for Petronas.
Please enlighten, thanks

Had you been reading the thread, you'll be enlightened. Not a place to be lazy in here and expect to be spoon fed just because you asked nicely.Seek the cards under OCBC and you are on your way for enlightenment. You are on your own from here, now go to OCBC!

such a long time to wait for the dispute  sweat.gif

2-3 months waiting time is normal. Investigations take time. No way can settle in a few days.
That's why the best practice is to be always alert of where your cards are and don't delay to block card/make a police report. Plus, making a report doesn't mean you are scot free ... if investigations doesn't find clear evidence then how to just take your words ? Anyone can claim anything and say anything right ... please guys .... evidence is important.

Yes. CCRIS will shows the type of credits that you are applying.
*
Yup ... I concur this information. So any smart applying too many cards (e.g. during fairs), banks will see all the application pending when they do the CCRIS check. This can be a reason for rejecting the cc application as well.

just to check if CIMB stil doing promotion of upgrading plat to world plat if so, RM30k CL for DA can apply to upgrade to world plat?

No you will not qualify. The qualifier for this card would be nothing less CL of RM100K.
Anything less don't bother nor the bank will entertain any request.

Being a foreigner, the income requirements to own a local cc jumps significantly. If I'm not mistaken it is min RM60K per annum.

Anybody know what is the basic requirement to apply subcard for my gf?
I have think to get a credit card (Gold Card) for my own, at the same time, I'm thinking to apply one more sub-card for my gf.
*
Only the minimum age requirement applies which is 18.
No income requirement applies as that is dependent on the principal which is yourself.

Amex and HSBC should not be counted for service tax waiver, as you need to use your hard-earned points to exchange for the service tax payment.

Other banks such as SCB and OCBC (just to name a few) offer you free points to compensate or offset the service tax payment. That's the real service tax reimbursement.
*
Agreed. Many folks here always equate using hard earned points (e.g you need to spend to get points) as service tax waiver.
Actual meaning of waiver means the bank offer compensation to offset the tax.

Again ... I would like to reiterate that the selection of credit card of choice should never be based on freebies or offer to offset service tax waiver. (Most cards are generally free in one form or another) It should be based on what you want to get out of your spending habits. E.g. Points, cash rebates, air miles etc. A good place to think about your choices would be the first page.

is that worth to use HL credit card?
anybody know any benefit to use HL compare to others?
*
No one can answer your accurately as everyone would have their own preferences and spending pattern. You need to understand what you want to get out of your credit card and match it against what is available in the market. Also to keep in mind there no such card that will be able to match 100% of your expectations. Most of the senior guys in this thread hold multiple cards to suit their lifestyle. (Holding multiple cards on the basis to get huge credit limit is wrong and encourages abuse of the cards)

Personally, I would say no to this HL credit card as it doesn't suit me but another forummer would have answered you positively. (That's what I am trying to say) A quick guide and (perhaps) an answer can be found if the first page and hope you made the effort to look there before posting this question.

Anyone can confirm the annual subcription fee for SCB Business Platinum card. The SCB's promoter said the fee is waived for 2 years and subsequent years is waive by calling up to SCB. But I check from the SCB webside, the fee  is RM 300.00 per year. Anyone can confirm for this? TQ.
*
When you sign up for any SCB cards, the agent will be required to produce to you 2 things.
- The application form
- Acceptance of the promotion (Form)

The second form indicates the promo that you sign up for. If you are worried, you can ask for a copy of the signed promotional form. SCB won't screw you up that easily, so don't worry. Websites will never indicate the current promo. All banks do not post this info on the website. This is to avoid banks from receiving a call from BNM due to another competitive bank complaining about their promo. (This has happened many times before)

Wanna clarify something. Did we compulsory need to enclose EA form as well to apply cc? I asked CIMB and PBB and they say compulsory.
It is possible for me to to apply without that document? or maybe can I use other supporting documents such as promotion letter, salary increment letter. etc ect

thanks in advance biggrin.gif
*
Likely you are a 1st time card applicant then it is a yes. You may try other documents if they allow you but unlikely if you are applying for the 1st time.
Plus if you call the bank, that's the answer they are supposed to give you. Agents may relax this rule slightly.

the annual fee, which we can waive for minimum swipes apply..
does standing instruction to pay bills or buy air ticket through online is consider swipes?

coz i'm looking for a credit card mainly to pay bills for my parents and buy MAS ticket. since my salary bank-in to alliance so maybe i will get the younique card (great rebates). what u guys think?

thnks..
*
Quick answer is yes ... online transactions are considered as swipes.
Choice of credit card dependent on individual ... look to the first page on what is deemed the best. It depends what you want coz for example while we may recommend you OCBC TI but your income may not meet the requirements yet and you may have preference to use your bank where your salary is banked-in for convenience. Many people do not want to pay the IBG fees or walk a little to the bank to make credit card payments. (Plus there can be many other reasons)

That's why I said it is a preference. Especially since you have narrowed it down to Younique card then go ahead and be happy about your decision.

Can negotiate with them actually? Like that will be easy
*
The person who you are speaking to would have no authority to process your application nor decides on whether or not your application would be successful. Even though you persuade them, best they will just put a note and pass it on to the department which handles your application. And no, they would not allow you to speak to anyone who will be processing your application.

Does that give you an idea whether your negotiation would be successful or not ?

If you paid in full (as required) and before the statement then nothing should be worried about.
1st month using cc and already your TP 6500+, I find that hard to believe.

got a question on Maybank Balance Transfer programme, 12 months 0%

says like my friend will receive his Citibank statement on 5/1/2011
and he need to pay before 14-16/1

if he is about to apply for Maybank BT, can he success before the payment date? or he shall pay the minimum 1st?
*
Pay the minimum first just in case.
BT processing could take about 1 week but if the response is high then be prepared to wait even longer.

if the statement stated the minimum balance is RM100
after paying RM100, will he get charged interest for the remaining RM3,900?
*
Yes ... should he did not pay the remaining balance after the due date.
Bear in mind that this interest is prorated and calculation on a daily rest. Probably your friend need to pay a few days of interest. You still save on paying a significant interest after doing BT.
