The question sounds like he want to apply credit card which offer such plans and buy things on installment.I hope I didn't guess the intention correctly coz that's a bad move towards personal cash management.

QUOTE(erry- @ Jan 2 2011, 09:37 PM) do ur card have any outstanding? i also applied with cc that more than 7x ur cl but never have outstanding, rejected too Approval of the OCBC TI is not about how high your current CL is. It is about how your good you are in their eyes. OCBC got very strict risk management policies. They guess that OCBC TI product could possible become a big hit with consumers thus every application need to be carefully screened. While the OCBC TI can potentially increase their customer base but at the same the risk for higher NPL from bad customers also increases. That explains why they are extremely careful about approving the application. (Don't know whether what I am saying will make sense to you guys or not) I asked for 1/6 of my CL and they approved me. This post has been edited by hye: Jan 2 2011, 09:48 PM |

QUOTE(PPZ @ Jan 3 2011, 08:19 PM) but my company is sdn bhd. also consider bhd? my company consider a multinational company because it is everywhere in the world right? Yes ... generally working in multinationals does have it advantages when applying credit card. Multinationals can be Sdn. Bhd. or Bhd. coz this depends on how the incorporation was done locally. All the folks here and us can categorize but it depends on how would the bank consider it. Submit the application and just sit back. There's nothing much you can do to influence the application process, so why stress yourself ? |

QUOTE(jiro1986 @ Jan 4 2011, 12:40 AM) maybank better than hsbc, citibank, eon ? We know what we are talking about. The senior contributors to this thread would not simply give you advise just for the sake of post count.i have all this but never try use maybank yet. other 3 almost same rate It is entirely up to you to decide. I suggest you to do your own research before you commit yourself to a new card. But please don't ask everyone's opinions in here. You decide yourself. Added on January 4, 2011, 1:10 am QUOTE(ronnie @ Jan 4 2011, 01:06 AM) There's a lower way to do it.1. Put money inside a Citibank account. 2. Take the ATM card and bring it to SG. 3. Withdraw local money while you are in Singapore. Sorry guys ... OT. This post has been edited by hye: Jan 4 2011, 01:10 AM |

QUOTE(PPZ @ Jan 4 2011, 08:20 AM) hey guys, i have one question in my mind. what if you want to apply back other credit card from a bank which you already cancel one credit card from them. will they approve your application since you have cancel with them earlier one? i mean after quite some time and then only apply IF they have good offer credit card in the market. Sure why not? Just bear in mind some banks have some sort of lockout period where you can't reapply after you cancel. After that they will accept you. Normally lockout period range between 3-12 months depending on the bank.I'm not sure what you mean by "quite some time" as this can mean months or years. |

Ah ... the illusions of high CL.
Banks are not that stupid to just simply give you high CL just for fun. Likely to give high CL to customers who they already "know". High CL just to attract new customer ? Unlikely as this seriously undermine the banks risk management practices. |

QUOTE(TeraPox @ Jan 4 2011, 11:57 AM) p.s: make sure u did spend using their cards la... to be fair... dun expect to put their card in ur wallet for display for a year then request for a waiver... I totally agree on this point. Freebies are 2 way ... you gotta give some and get something back. Even if you go supermarket, the food samples are incredibly small. You can't fill yourself up unless you go like 10-20 times. (or more) Not to mention where to put your face. |

My prediction is that petrol rebate would not be sustainable by the cc providers in the long run. Petrol prices looks to go up again in the short to medium term.

QUOTE(TeraPox @ Jan 6 2011, 08:35 PM) but Premier is a "WORLD"... i've confirm it ~~ HSBC Premier has the word "World" because HSBC standardized the card across all its Premier centres all over the world. Few places has the "World" standard namely Australia. Unfortunately Malaysia isn't one of where HSBC recognizes the card to be "World" status. In Malaysia it is more like a "Platinum" card.it's the first WMC in Malaysia.. just that most of us didn't notice it~ XD You are not the only who has a Premier card bro Terapox. |

QUOTE(charymsylyn @ Jan 6 2011, 09:17 PM) The word WORLD is at the wrong place. Compare it to your MBB WMC for the correct placement of the word which makes it a WMC. It has nothing to do with the placement of the word "World". As mentioned earlier, HSBC Malaysia does not have WMC in Malaysia. The word World exist because the card design is standardized all over the world for HSBC Premier card holders. |

QUOTE(dr2k3 @ Jan 7 2011, 02:17 PM) Whether you use the official one or your own, you will still get your card cancelled. Please don't come in here thinking here supply bank forms! I think it is a bit too much although we can discuss or share things here. Let's not take spoon feeding to a new level guys. Most banks does not even have an official form for card cancellation. And I have never used any so called official form to cancel my card (as far as I could remember) and I am sure 100% my card gets cancelled all the time. |

QUOTE(shauyan @ Jan 7 2011, 10:13 PM) hi guys, need your opinion. Just use your Maybank for overseas use. Conversion rate ? You didn't even tell us which country you want to go to ... which date, what time you intend to use the card. Conversion rates will change on a daily basis and the rates are set by the bank, none of us here would be able to tell you what is the conversion rate is right ?I'm planning to travel overseas. I have 3 cards: CIMB Master Gold, Citi Cash back Plat and Maybank Petronas Gold. When one you recommend to use? Maybank have lowest 0.5% admin charge but how the conversion rate? |

QUOTE(wongpeter @ Jan 8 2011, 12:25 AM) cc recognition based on what criteria? I won't bother ... question is very subjective. You can ask 100 guys in here and they will give you 100 different answers.or is your question based loosely along the lines of 'what is the meaning of life?' anyone care to answer? |

QUOTE(zenquix @ Jan 8 2011, 02:48 PM) Agreed. While AMEX may give good promo but acceptance is very limited in Malaysia.Using it overseas attracts an unattractive transaction fee too. This is more of a personal preference but I'd rather not use a card where I have to think so many times where the merchant accepts it or not. Plus, I'd not use it overseas thus making my reason to use it even less. |
