besides the 5X rewards for petrol, groceries and etc. other than this, all will be 2X?
*
Yes for AMEX Gold Credit Card in general. However, AMEX do have promotions where last year get 10X for petrol.

The thing is 2X membership reward points is equaivalent to 1% cash back (200MR = RM1). So you get minimum 1% cash back uncapped for whatever transactions.

hmm.. so that means, exclude the 5X reward points, whatever i swap will get 2X reward points right? they got capped reward points that can redeem cash?
*
my english must be bad tongue.gif , no cap for AMEX. You can redeem as long as you got membership reward points.

Do go check out my blog on credit cards --> click at AMEX label (on the right column) to get more info on AMEX Gold CC.

QUOTE(HJebat @ Jan 12 2011, 08:31 PM)
erry: i have made an appeal. See what happens next. Last time the bank officer did cut the card in front of my eyes. So, i thought ok, it's cancelled. Then, sudenlly in 2010 i received a statement that i have an overdue payment.
*
Cutting your card in half and surrendering it to HLB is good enough that you have cancelled the account. In your letter to HLB clearly state this fact and the branch where you did the above action. Better if you can remember the officer's name. Word the letter in a firm manner pointing out to HLB that they are in the wrong and you not willing to to pay for their mistake.

Hi there, any EON-GSC card holder here?

tried to purchase movie ticket, but don't seems to get the T-Pin to my mobile phone number, how do I activate it?

sorry, its not T-Pin, but OTP (One Time Password)

don't get it still, after login & logout for 2 times from GSC website sad.gif
*
CAll CS and check if they got the right contact number. Bought Air Asia tickets recently and the OTP was sent to my hp automatically.

for those who are not aware, please note that Alliance Bank has discontinued their travel insurance benefit for air ticket purchase. Got confirmation from CS today.

Perhaps add a list of cards providing complimentary travel insurance in first post
*
Got my UOB statement today and it was highlighted that Effective 1st March 2011, Travel Accident Insurance Coverage for all Platinum cards will be discontinued. Well it is indeed a surprise that Alliance and UOB are terminating this benefit. More cards to follow? For me will be buying air tickets with my EON Visa Signature which gives Medical Insurance Overseas on top of Travel Insurance.

I check my Amex Gold CC today and noticed MBB increased my CL after 3 years of being their customer..
*
Noted that MBB also recently increased my CL when I got the MBB Plat MC from them early this year.

Hi everyone,

What is the best card for purchases on 0% installment plans? Which card most widely tied up to shops? Is it Maybank card?
*
In respect to your question which card most widely tied to shops, I would say MBB. Not only that, some of these merchants offer extra points if go with MBB installment plan.

Other cards presently offering 0% flexi payment for any transaction is a promotion and not a permanent feature.

Just got my CIMB WMC approved. Wondered if the VI is better than the WMC?
*
I have both DA WMC and VI and I can tell you I hardly ever use the VI except maybe once or twice last year. CIMB/DA MC somehow got more promotion.

QUOTE(Robin Liew @ Jan 13 2011, 10:01 PM)
how come i dunno this? meaning i hold a cimb platinum,
*
Because you not a Direct Access card holder? Ask dumb question and you shall have a stupid reply tongue.gif JK

Do frequently check out CIMB and DA websites and do read The Star newspaper to be informed as CIMB/DA frequently advertise their promotions.

QUOTE(erry- @ Jan 13 2011, 10:32 PM)
i read at alliance website, to get debit plat must deposit rm20k.

my question is, that rm20k need to maintain or can withdraw after received the card?
whats the min amount must have inside? thanks notworthy.gif
*
haha, why so lazy don't want call them up tongue.gif Well in order to qualify you need RM20K deposits with them. So the way I interprete is once you have less than this said amount in deposits then you don't qualify anymore.

its maybank, amex and alliance (alliance for current card holder only) - 12 months 0% fee.
while pbb and cimb - 6 months 0% fee.
*
just to add - since I was on the line with Alliance CS, asked them how long it takes to for BT application and was informed takes 2 weeks! To be frank, Alliance kind of slow, 1.5 years back asked for credit limit increase no action for a week so complain by email then only got called from them. Would expect fast action after that but yet still took them more than a week to increase my CL and by that time I no longer needed the increase.
