QUOTE(hebe87 @ Dec 24 2010, 07:03 PM) TBP is good, but the point itself does not worth that much as more points are required for redemption.. ie 21,800TBP for RM100 voucher Another frustrating thing is that the gift items for redemption are so limited. I ended up redeeming some household items, as I did not want to use such huge points to redeem gift vouchers.QUOTE(chemistry @ Dec 24 2010, 07:51 PM) I would say the best redemption is from Amex and SCB, where we can redeem cash back. Also, points required to redeem cash are much lesser than points for gift vouchers. This post has been edited by winner: Dec 25 2010, 11:30 AM |

QUOTE(ronnie @ Dec 28 2010, 02:52 AM) He did highlight that his annual income is RM20,000, whereas OCBC Titanium requires annual salary of RM36,000. Therefore, Citibank Shell Classic and Alliance Younique suit him more if his main intention is to get cash back from Shell petrol purchases. |

Some banks would generally require foreigners to pledge FD in order to issue CCs to them.

I will stay away from all products of Ambank as much as I can. I am now having a commercial property loan with Ambank, but its disorganised system and organisation really piss me off. This is my personal experience and others may feel differently.

QUOTE(erry- @ Dec 28 2010, 04:24 PM) other bank that offer gst waiver with points: Amex and HSBC should not be counted for service tax waiver, as you need to use your hard-earned points to exchange for the service tax payment.hsbc: 9,500 points. swipe oversea get 3x. so if swipe oversea, only need around rm3200. amex gold: 10,000k points. amex gold can get 5x points at petrol, groceries & bill payment. so swipe rm2000 already can waived gst. Other banks such as SCB and OCBC (just to name a few) offer you free points to compensate or offset the service tax payment. That's the real service tax reimbursement. |

QUOTE(erry- @ Dec 28 2010, 04:50 PM) yes i know this. Almost all the points based CCs allow you to redeem your hard-earned points for service tax payment.BUT, kei18kun talking about "use your BonusLink Points to offset your annual MBF Cards Card Service Tax". not bank that offer free cashback to offset gst so i just give another example of bank that offering points to offset gst |

Today I redeemed an iPod Shuffle which I won from SCB's promotion. I managed to get the latest model - 4th Generation iPod Shuffle.

QUOTE(Dannyl @ Dec 30 2010, 01:23 PM) I remember someone mentioned TMnet autodebit comes with rebate of RM4. Just now I went to ask, was told it's RM2 and with Visa only. So what's up with that? I have TM autodebit with my MasterCard. I receive a monthly rebate of RM2.Added on December 30, 2010, 1:51 pm QUOTE(bingozero @ Dec 30 2010, 01:48 PM) Streamyx combo, include with the telephone rental fees. QUOTE(chemistry @ Dec 30 2010, 05:04 PM) My autopay is using OCBC Ti Mastercard to pay a residential phone line and a business phone line. The home line got RM4 rebate from TM, but shop line got only RM2. How come? My house phone line (Telekom) with autodebit with OCBC Titanium MC only gives a monthly rebate of RM2.This post has been edited by winner: Dec 30 2010, 09:44 PM |

QUOTE(erry- @ Jan 2 2011, 01:33 AM) this:usually me around rm500/month. so i get back rm120/year. can cover gst rm50 and still get back rm70. isnt that much? DA MC gave cash back for petrol since 2002? NOT that early as far as I know.and i'm using DA since 2002 (that time ocbc dont offer 5% fuel rebate yet), so i get back +/- rm1000 already. besides, i can pump at ALL petrol station. QUOTE(PPZ @ Jan 2 2011, 10:57 AM) Yes, it gives 5% cash back at ALL petrol stations, subject to a maximum cap of RM50 per month for all rebates under both 2% and 5% category.QUOTE(kelvinlee1983 @ Jan 2 2011, 01:31 PM) It is 0.435% per month. 0.435% x 12 months = 5.22% per year.QUOTE(jurne @ Jan 2 2011, 01:33 PM) hi, jz a simple question. Which card is best for overseas transaction and with govt tax waived promotion? Refer to Page 1 of this thread. |

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Jan 2 2011, 04:40 PM) I can confirm that DA was not giving 2% as early as 2002 or 2003. I was using my AMEX Charged Card for many years as it gives points at petrol stations whereas CC no points. Started pumping with DA when they gave offer free watch which I did get one and then continue with DA when they offered 2% for petrol. Switch to AMEX Gold CC in Aug 2009 and since October 2010 using OCBC Titanium. QUOTE(erry- @ Jan 2 2011, 04:05 PM) no. seriously. i'm using DA since southern bank era. i get fuel cash rebate since applied, which is in middle 2002. at that time, only petronas can use chip credit card at pump, later shell, then later all petrol station. I also agree with Gen-X, I can confirm that DA did not give cash back for petrol so early as I was a DA customer too under Southern Bank era. Fortunately I still kept my DA statements back in 2005. My transactions in Petronas and Shell during that period DID NOT earn any cash back. |

QUOTE(chemistry @ Jan 2 2011, 07:21 PM) Apply OCBC Titanium, transfer all your balance from EON & HSBC to this new card. As mentioned by some forummers who have done BT to OCBC Titanium, OCBC's BT programme share the same account with cc. For BT programme sharing same account with cc, it is not advisable to use the cc again until you fully settle the BT outstanding balance. This is to avoid interest being charged to your cc.OCBC is doing 6-month 0% BT for new cardmembers, valid till 31/3/2011. |

QUOTE(hAnn @ Jan 5 2011, 10:14 AM) yes i was planning to buy a few electrical appliances n since the hypermart i use to buy groceries from r selling them. so i was thinking if these electrical appliances would be incurred with rebates offered by eg. ocbc titanium's 5% rebate off grocery? If you buy the electrical appliances in the hypermarket itself (not those external shops inside the hypermarket building), your purchases will be entitled to 5% cash back, subject to a monthly cap of RM50 under both 5% and 1% categories. |

QUOTE(chemistry @ Jan 5 2011, 05:40 PM) In my opinion, OCBC BT is 'slightly' better than CIMB BT. Not only because of no need pay 5%, but also without early exit fee. You may fully settle the BT at any time you like within the BT period. When OCBC Titanium was just relaunched few months ago, I was informed by the CS that payment would be made towards BT outstanding balance first and thereafter retail purchases. That's why I stayed away from OCBC's BT programme. |
