erry-: Thanks for the answers. The upon-approval RM50 GST cash back is up to max of RM250,000 (or first 5,000 cardmember only) :-(

Trying to compare the HLB Essential Visa with SCB Business Visa Platinum.
Which is better ?

You only can benefit from SCB biz plat if you travel (and spend) overseas a lot, because of its Triple Choice Points.
With SCB Biz Plat, the cardholder earns 1X choice Point and 0.5% cashback at the same time. This makes up a total of 1% cashback, which is same with Essential's 1% cashback.

But SCB Biz Plat has got KLIA Premium Lounge unlimited access, Essential don't have.
SCB has Purchase Protect, HLB don't have.
*
Based on your comparison, SCB Business Visa Platinum is much better choice ;-)
Are ChoicePoints earned from SCB Mastercard Platinum can be use for cash redemption (5000 ChoicePoints) against SCB Business Visa Platinum

ronnie : ur welcome

btw, look for their annual fee too.

hlb essentials: rm100 or free with 2x swipe/month.
scb biz plat: rm300
scb biz gold: rm200

so confirm no auto waiver on annual fee for scb.
if call them then ask, its not auto waiver sweat.gif

a little bit suprised, scb biz gold require salary only rm18k/year!
same as other bank classic card.
even their plat require salary also only rm60k/year.

while hlb essentials min salary is rm30k/year.

Calling for Annual Fee waiver is so yesterday vmad.gif vmad.gif
But if SCB does waive it after one call a year, I don't really mind icon_rolleyes.gif

Why not consider Alliance Bank VISA Platinum or Alliance Bank Platinum MasterCard ? The first RM500 charged to your card every month will get you at least 1.02% cash back. This cash back will continue to increase as you spend more. The cash back however, is capped at up to a maximum spending on retail purchases of RM5,000/month only. Any amount spent after reaching RM5,000 in a month, you will earn only Timeless Bonus Point. You will get at least 2.42% cash back on the last RM2450 charged to the card (out of RM5,000).
*
Based on the below example table from Alliance's website,
If we spend RM3000 using Alliance Bank VISA/Mastercard Platinum, we get back a total of RM28.75, which equivalent to 0.96% cashback.

for my petronas here, mesra first, then CC

even if i go to counter, also mesra first, then CC

Special pump machines.. which Petronas ?
If you insert the Mesra card first, that means it will use the Mesra points to pay for the petrol, right ?

can split the payment into RM4000 for SCB and RM1900 for OCBC .
SCB swipe RM4k win guaranteed gift and STAND to win iPad.
While the rest RM1,900 swipe on OCBC gets RM19.  wink.gif

Btw, Miles bro, why did you use HSBC card? (RM30+5900pts)/RM5900 is just 0.9X% cashback. doesn't your Citibank card offer better benefit?
*
You need to spend >RM4000.01 to get a chance to get SCB's iPad SMS contest

biggrin.gif IMHO cc due date should not be influenced by salary date. Unless the cardholder always use up the fund in salary account.

That's why I pay myself first and pay CC last hehehe

Yes OCBC allows but not to Tit users.

u wil stil get yr cashback but not the additional periodic promotion, which i have been made to understand from 3 CS.
*
Those periodic promotion you are still entitled, it's just that you may not get the pamphlet (together with your statement) in time to know the promo.
But by reading this thread, you will know before hand also icon_rolleyes.gif drool.gif

I've received promo such as Swiss Watch Gallery cocktail invite also.

hMMM..
i wonder why they explained otherwise despite checking with 3 different CS at 3 diff occassions as I was warned when i wanted to change the billig date  hmm.gif
*
Dunno... even DA also told the same thing when i changed my statement date ;-)
Maybe someone working in the bank can highlight to us why....
My guess is that the marketing dept senhd out promotional leaflet at fix intervals... if we change the date, their schedule goes haywire.

Basically DA/CIMB points are reset EVERY 3 years.
So take note of your CC statement (it pays to read it) which mentions the Bonus Points expiry date ;-)
