QUOTE(Nepo @ Dec 30 2010, 09:35 AM)
I got curious about the process of application of credit card.

For my 1st HSBC classic card, they required my photocopy IC and EA.
2nd Card (Gold)-CIMB  just using photocopy 1st Classic card and photocapy my IC.
3rd Card (Platnium-SCB) just using photocopy 2nd card (Gold) and photocopy my IC
How can they verify my salary level for the 2nd card and 3rd card (different banks) since i haven't provide any salary info for them (the salary given in application form in not my actual salary) ?
They just want to check your credit standing and they will make a decision based on that.

I got my Amex 150 rebates ooo. smile.gif
This is just a promotion whilst the OCBC Titanium MasterCard rebate system is a permanent feature of the card. Besides, they will help you to pay RM50 to Najib if you charge at least RM10,000 to your card in a calender year.

OCBC Bank is generous enough to help you to pay the RM50 to Najib & Co as long as you charge at least RM10k into your OCBC Titanium MasterCard in a calender year rclxms.gif

bro, that is for new applicant only, but if you spent more than RM5k a year, EON Bank will give you 1% of total spent amount, which equal to RM50 to waive your GST smile.gif
Anyone can confirm if this offer is still valid ? My agent suggested me to apply for the INGIAFAM-EON Bank Business MasterCard so i can get 2% off my insurance premium every year.

QUOTE(PPZ @ Jan 2 2011, 09:14 PM)

Saw that link attached but it is in the promotion page and there is no mention of any expiry date to the promotion. Just wanted to confirm with any existing EON Bank credit card users that this promotion is indeed still valid.

Do you pay premium to ING?
Is PB-ING Mastercard useful to you?
No. Not at all. In order to get the rebate from this PB-ING MasterCard, one must buys the ING insurance via Public Bank branches.

I did dispute with the CS previously.
He insisted on max RM50 per card.
He neglected "per participating group brand" on purpose.
Can sue them if they do not honor what is written black and white.

Can I bring this matter to the attention of Kementerian Hal Ehwal Pengguna?
Yes. You can. CIMB Bank can't get away from this as everything is written in black and white. What a way to shoot themselves on the feet laugh.gif

Anyway, as we all know. Sometimes customer service officer is not the most reliable person for information about their credit cards, promotions and any other banking products. This customer service officer that replied your email could be one of the misinformed and ignorant officer.

i use my malaysia credit card to buy things in Singapore.

the currency they charge is very expensive..

is it possible i pay my credit card bill with sing dollar?

or any other way to settle it?
No. It can only be settled in RM.

Anyway, you should get a Maybank credit card. Maybank credit card gives the most competitive foreign exchange rate.

Currently CIMB/DA redemption vouchers is send to cardmembers without any courier fees, right ?
A few days ago, they were still charging RM8 for shipment to East Malaysia whilst delivery within Peninsular was free of charge. Not sure about now though. The latest reward redemption catalog is not out yet.

He is not it. TeraPox used to be very active in this forum along with Tinkerbel, Tgeoklin just to name a few and has actually made real contributions to the credit card thread.

QUOTE(PPZ @ Jan 4 2011, 08:20 AM)
hey guys, i have one question in my mind. what if you want to apply back other credit card from a bank which you already cancel one credit card from them. will they approve your application since you have cancel with them earlier one? i mean after quite some time and then only apply IF they have good offer credit card in the market.
Definitely no problem after a year or two. My aunt canceled her HSBC credit card twice and reapplied twice. Approved all the times. She reapplied due to HSBC giving some free voucher/cash laugh.gif

QUOTE(TeraPox @ Jan 4 2011, 08:38 AM)
problem is, all 3 card dun really gimme any benifit... only CIMB, i get xtra discount @ starbucks...
Too bad there is no more discount at Starbucks since a few days ago. Only HSBC still gives 10% discount at Starbucks.

QUOTE(tgeoklin @ Jan 4 2011, 09:04 AM)
Can also be done with a Maybank account and ATM card  tongue.gif
Or HSBC ATM card. The best would be one having the Standard Chartered Priority Banking ATM card though. This card gives fee-free cash withdrawals at all ATMs overseas as long as the ATM is on the PLUS network.

QUOTE(TeraPox @ Jan 4 2011, 09:58 AM)
CIMB leh, last time I can use it for starbucks discount and 15% @ eraman... bur now, i heard no more promotion!!! arrgghh!!!
Any idea if the "market" in the walkway to Gate A & B belongs to eraman too ?

basically free annual fee is just a phone call away... biggrin.gif

most of the banks will say YES for ur request ma...
I think someone canceled his Citibank credit card a while ago because Citibank wasn't willing to waive his credit card annual fee unless he enroll in Citibank Autopay with 3 different bills but the problem was, he didn't have so many bills to sign up for Citibank Autopay and Citibank wasn't really helpful either. So he ended up canceling his card.

besides, its not guarantee.
so better use guarantee free for life card (either with or without conditions).
Agreed. Even HSBC has made their credit card free for life by using their cards at least 12 times a year.

j-card not only give 10% for starbucks, but also discount for many other shops too.

its a great card actually. and aeon do offer credit card + j-card too. lazy to apply. another gst rm50? no! tongue.gif

just use normal j-card rm12/year + free supp card. can consider it as parking fee @ jusco laugh.gif
Yeah. I did notice that. Last time they were giving discount at Sushi King for total spending of RM60 or more. Didn't notice this 10% discount at Starbucks though. We usually just use our J-Card to buy mooncake at a deeply discounted price at Jaya Jusco Mid-Valley. Mooncake in Sabah is so freaking expensive vmad.gif

Got ... Eraman honored mine, I bought chocolates @ the airport. Promotion ended 31st December 2010 by the way.
Where did you buy your chocolates ? The one outside in the departure hall in Main Terminal Building or in the Satellite Terminal ? I bought mine inside the Main Terminal Building after passing through the security check for domestic flights. I did not have the CIMB Bank World MasterCard (still don't have) but when i asked if they give any discount to this card, they said no. They only gave 10% discount to those paying by VISA Platinum/VISA Signature/VISA Infinite and 5% discount for Classic VISA/Gold VISA.

By the way, i just got the PIN no for my Citibank Cash Back VISA after a gruesome wait of 3 months ! Anyway, below is my recent transactions done in foreign currency and the rate doesn't seem any better than HSBC's shakehead.gif

11/12/10
- USD > MYR = 3.1950
- AUD > MYR = 3.1549

**I am not sure if the date recorded in my Citi Online is the posting date of transaction date as i am new to their online banking portal.

QUOTE(chemistry @ Jan 4 2011, 01:13 PM)
The time I told Citibank CS that I couldn't produce any bill for AUTOPAY purpose, I knew annual fee waiver was no hope already so I asked her to cancel my card. She didn't even persuade or what, straight away cancel my card already sweat.gif
Yeah. That could be you. I just couldn't remember who exactly it was sweat.gif

I just want to share the ATM Operating Hours of a few banks. After the compilation then only I realize MAYBANK and PUBLIC BANK do not provide ATM services after 12am.
AMBank ATM operates only 22 hours a day (offline between 0000 - 0200). Alliance Bank ATM claims their ATM go offline around 11.45pm everyday but usually it is already gone offline around 11.30pm. RHB Bank and Hong Leong Bank ATM are not totally 24 hours either. I once tried to withdraw cash from both banks around 1am and none of their ATM worked.
