Anyway, as we all know. Sometimes customer service officer is not the most reliable person for information about their credit cards, promotions and any other banking products. This customer service officer that replied your email could be one of the misinformed and ignorant officer.

Anyway, you should get a Maybank credit card. Maybank credit card gives the most competitive foreign exchange rate.

I have a HSBC credit card and the foreign exchange charged is quite high. Maybank is the lowest.

A few days ago, they were still charging RM8 for shipment to East Malaysia whilst delivery within Peninsular was free of charge. Not sure about now though. The latest reward redemption catalog is not out yet.

Definitely no problem after a year or two. My aunt canceled her HSBC credit card twice and reapplied twice. Approved all the times. She reapplied due to HSBC giving some free voucher/cash


Too bad there is no more discount at Starbucks since a few days ago. Only HSBC still gives 10% discount at Starbucks.


Or HSBC ATM card. The best would be one having the Standard Chartered Priority Banking ATM card though. This card gives fee-free cash withdrawals at all ATMs overseas as long as the ATM is on the PLUS network.

I think someone canceled his Citibank credit card a while ago because Citibank wasn't willing to waive his credit card annual fee unless he enroll in Citibank Autopay with 3 different bills but the problem was, he didn't have so many bills to sign up for Citibank Autopay and Citibank wasn't really helpful either. So he ended up canceling his card.


Argh ... then how come they did no honor the 15% discount for CIMB World MasterCard holder ...

Yeah. I did notice that. Last time they were giving discount at Sushi King for total spending of RM60 or more. Didn't notice this 10% discount at Starbucks though. We usually just use our J-Card to buy mooncake at a deeply discounted price at Jaya Jusco Mid-Valley. Mooncake in Sabah is so freaking expensive

Where did you buy your chocolates ? The one outside in the departure hall in Main Terminal Building or in the Satellite Terminal ? I bought mine inside the Main Terminal Building after passing through the security check for domestic flights. I did not have the CIMB Bank World MasterCard (still don't have) but when i asked if they give any discount to this card, they said no. They only gave 10% discount to those paying by VISA Platinum/VISA Signature/VISA Infinite and 5% discount for Classic VISA/Gold VISA.

By the way, i just got the PIN no for my Citibank Cash Back VISA after a gruesome wait of 3 months ! Anyway, below is my recent transactions done in foreign currency and the rate doesn't seem any better than HSBC's

AMBank ATM operates only 22 hours a day (offline between 0000 - 0200). Alliance Bank ATM claims their ATM go offline around 11.45pm everyday but usually it is already gone offline around 11.30pm. RHB Bank and Hong Leong Bank ATM are not totally 24 hours either. I once tried to withdraw cash from both banks around 1am and none of their ATM worked.
