Some older title bd review.

I love this movie. Great storyline about Man in general. A major dig at the superpowers in the world who exploit others for whats important them while justifying their acts as needed for world peace.
PQ - very very good. Alternates between video like to film like seamlessly.
AQ
Another winner. Very good lfe moments. Active surrounds.

Good reviews. District 9 has a fantastic transfer. Have you checked out the special features? Good stuff.

I didn't need drugs. I just hit the credit limit on my CC tongue.gif

You have 60-70 BDs to watch. You better start watching now coz if it remains unopened and prices keeps dropping (which it will), wifey will come home one day finding you doing this repeatedly in the same timely fashion and order:

A note for those accustomed to buying fr Amazon uk. The VAT there has increased to 20% starting yesterday so it means cheaper BDs for us as VAT is deducted fr the price shown for foreign addresses. Coupled with the lower pound...u know what that means.

Thanks for the heads up, mate. Cheers.

Anybody heard of this movie? I read some of the comments in kopitiam forum + wiki'ed. I cant believe such a movie deserve BD and even any attention. The precise word is SICK! Btw, the d/l version is widely available..  shakehead.gif
*
It apparently contains scenes of necrophilia.

Calling it sick would thus be an understatement.

Amazon UK shipping rate is lower than US so the total might still be lower though probably not by much and it's not that hard to go check the region coding for the BD

For Amazon UK, if you haven't received for about 1 month after your parcel dispatched from UK, you can write to them.

Anyone watched "The King's Speech"?  Is it good?  Plan to get blu-ray when this title release... hmm.gif

To quote Roger Ebert, "What we have here is a superior historical drama and a powerful personal one." He gave it four stars out of four nod.gif

You're into period dramas as well, bro low? The Queen? Young Victoria?

I think "The King's Speech" will probably become one of the collection in Criterion Collection.  hmm.gif  The only question is Anchor Bay Entertainment going to give their right to Criterion?

I thought the distributor was Momentum Pictures @ Alliance Films UK?

http://www.momentumpictures.co.uk/

Anyways, I think the distributor will capitalise on the film's Golden Globe/Oscar buzz and release their own BD smile.gif

That is probably UK only.
Source: http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=5697

Added on January 10, 2011, 4:01 pmI just check, "The King's Speech" US distributor is The Weinstein Company and UK distributor is Momentum Pictures.

Momentum Pictures is Alliance Films Company which distributes all or some of the The Weinstein Company libraries in UK.

And The Weinstein Company has agreed to acquired 25% shares in Starz Media 6 days ago and Anchor Bay Entertainment is subsidiary of Starz Media.

That is why Anchor Bay Entertainment get US distribution right.  laugh.gif

Valho, I caught Kagemusha over the weekend. It was a long and slow movie, but very well-made. Kurosawa at his usual best. smile.gif

I think you'd appreciate the camera work throughout the movie. Some camera angles were really creative. nod.gif

The special features were interesting as well. Good job by the folk at Criterion

I'd recommend this for any Kurosawa fans and those who like foreign films. nod.gif

Are you following up the thread from yesterday? I think i clearly stated yesterday it's an offer from B&N , buy 2 Free 1, that includes Criterion.
Paid premium price tho, but since getting a copy for free and you can choose any Blu-ray you want , don't feel like paying premium for it

This morning received an email informing they will send out a replacement copy FOC and also ask me to keep the first copy as compliments or donate to charity.  rclxms.gif

Great customer service.
