I rather have Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya then MA. VTV is a beautiful film.
Naan Mahan Alla in the next few weeks. Endhiran, god knows!

Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya is a must have on BD but sadly its not on BD . I hope Endhiran doesnt suffer the same fate as VTV .

The tentative box art has been revealed for the 1980s sci-fi classic coming to the Blu-ray grid in 2011.

The folks at TheHDRoom have just reported what may be the cover art for Disney's original 'Tron' scheduled for Blu-ray sometime later this year.

The design isn't 100 percent finalized, but it provides a good indication that the release will likely be a Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack like most Disney releases.

Specs, supplements, and suggested list price for the Blu-ray are still undetermined at this time.

Here's a peek at the box art:

Steven Spielberg's sci-fi classic gets a double dip next month, though this new release is a downgrade from the previous 30th Anniversary Edition.

In an early announcement to retailers, Sony has lined up 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind,' starring Richard Dreyfuss, for Blu-ray release on February 11 as part of their Essentials Collection.

The release will be a two-disc set with 1080p video, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1/Dolby TrueHD 5.1 soundtracks, and all of the supplements from the prior release. This edition just won't contain the poster and collectible booklet.

Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $19.95.

3.  Anyone interested in audlt fantasy movie? tongue.gif  The Flying Pink Pig will be released on January 25, 2011.
Here's something exciting: Paramount has just announced the 1956 classic The Ten Commandments for release on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on 3/29, in celebration of the film's 55th anniversary. The film will be fully restored and will be released in 2-disc Blu-ray (SRP $24.99) and 2-disc DVD ($14.99) versions, as well as a 6-disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo Gift Set ($59.99) that also includes the 1926 version. The 2-disc versions will include the 1956 film split over two discs, audio commentary by Katherine Orrison (author of Written in Stone: Making Cecil B. DeMille's Epic The Ten Commandments), The Ten Commandments Premiere in New York newsreel and theatrical trailers. The 6-disc Gift Set will include BOTH the Blu-ray and DVD versions and will add the 1923 film with commentary by Orrison, hand-tinted footage of the "Exodus" and "Parting of the Red Sea" sequences from the 1923 film, photo galleries for the 1923 and 1956 films and the 75-minute The Ten Commandments: Making Miracles documentary. The packaging will feature an image of the Red Sea that parts when opened to reveal the two tablets. The box will also include a commemorative photo and archive book, featuring international premiere photos, production notes from Cecil B. DeMille, correspondence from Charlton Heston and more.

I watched this movie when i was young , looking forward for this classic movie to be released on BD .

Scarface, Jurassic Park Trilogy Blu-ray in 2011

During an extended interview with French site Ecranlarge.com, Eric Legay, marketing director for Universal France, revealed some of the catalog movies that the studio intends to release on Blu-ray in 2011, which prominently include the Jurassic Park trilogy and Brian DePalma's Scarface, along with some westerns and more Hitchcock.

The studio will also release some westerns on Blu-ray, including Winchester 73, Shenandoah and High Plains Drifter (apparently one of two movies starring Clint Eastwood that the studio plans to release this year).

Universal will also continue releasing Alfred Hitchcock movies on Blu-ray, but Legay noted that the flow of titles might be limited by the need to remaster them with the same level of quality as Psycho.

Sunshine Blu-ray Exchange Program

Blu-ray enthusiasts have been reporting playback issues with the Blu-ray release of Sunshine. Now, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has come through and made available replacement Blu-ray discs for any consumer that has had an issue playing their copy of Sunshine. Consumers should contact Fox customer service at 888-223-4369, where their name and address will be taken down for a replacement disc.

The issue was that the BD's picture-in-picture track turned itself on and couldn't be switched off, which made impossible to watch the movie itself. Several players were affected, including the PS3 (after a recent firmware update).

So people have leak some information that haven't confirmed officially during these few days about BD new:

1. Jurassic Park trilogy would be a big late 3rd or early 4th quarter release.

2. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy: Extended Editions on Blu-ray sometime this year. No kidding.

Extended Lord of the Rings Blu-ray Expected This Year

New Line CinemaAs principal photography is about to finally begin on The Hobbit, The Digital Bits is reporting that New Line, under Warner Home Video, will release the extended edition of The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy "sometime this year," in order to "keep the franchise fresh in the minds of fans."

The Hobbit will open in theaters in two parts, in 2012 and 2013. Afterwards, the studio is expected to release an ultimate Blu-ray box set including all five movies, with 3D versions probably also available.

All of the above must be considered unofficial until there is a formal announcement from the studio.

Blu-ray, some would say, is finally making waves in the industry, about to hit a second wave of euphoria thanks to Blu-ray 3D, and yet the big names in the tech world are still trying their best to slam the format against the wall.

"Blu-ray is going to be passed by as a format", claims Stephen McGill, UK Xbox boss in a recent interview with xbox360achievements.org.

When asked whether or not McGill thought a Blu-ray drive in the gaming console would add to its shelf life, the big cheese had the following to say:

"I think people may have spoken about that originally, but that's long gone. I think people now recognise what a smart decision it was to keep the pricing low, and actually Blu-ray is going to be passed by as a format. People have moved through from DVDs to digital downloads and digital streaming, so we offer full HD 1080p Blu-ray quality streaming instantly, no download, no delay. So, who needs Blu-ray?"

McGill's comments are understandable, the company has been, like Apple, pushing movie downloads via the Xbox 360, and comes at the same time Microsoft has announced it will be launching its Zune services in the UK.

The Zune offering will let you download and sync movies and music via your Xbox 360, PC and Windows Phone 7 smarpthone.

While that doesn't mean 3D Blu-ray movies for the time being, it doesn't rule out 3D movies via download either.

In an early alert to retailers Lionsgate has made public their plans to bring the 2010 Paul Haggis written/directed films “The Next Three Days” starring Russell Crowe and Liam Neeson to Blu-ray Disc on March 8th.
