Eh Steven, your lappy also 8gb right?

Not sure enough for light room or not.. Haiz.. A bit worried/regret..

4k screen suck up quite a lot of battery from what I heard, but I can't find any decent stats..
*
Yup, 8gb only.
The 4K about 3 hour different in battery life base on review

I play light gaming still okie
Paladin, dota 2 and CS:Go FHD medium
Setting all smooth

QUOTE(Vanquish_08 @ Sep 16 2018, 01:53 PM)
Silly question as I am seeing conflicting information online. Does the 9370 come with a matte FHD screen option? Some
of the international reviews are still calling it FHD but it looks more like a glossy screen with AG coating.

Thanks,
V
*
Is glossy FHD but not that reflective ,
Kinda mix of glossy and matte material.

I own a first gen XPS 13. 8GB RAM, 5th gen i7, 256GB SSD. 4 years old, going on to 5 years now.

Still works like a charm. Even after all the abuse i put it through. Only issue I had was the battery (cause of the abuse), but that can be changed I guess. After changing I was getting like 8 - 10+ hours battery life again. wub.gif

I use it mainly for browsing internet, FB, Youtube, watching movies, Spotify, etc. I also occasionally do some light gaming like CS GO (with lower graphics), Starcraft 2, FM 2018, etc. So far, OK lar, this lappie not meant for gamer or hardcore workstation stuff, but it gets the basics done and done very well.
I thought all FHD versions are matte? I remember the glossy screens are touch screen models which are all QHD models.
*
QUOTE(Vanquish_08 @ Sep 16 2018, 05:51 PM)
Thanks, Steven. Sucks that the all matte FHD screen was discontinued with the 9370. A friend bought one recently and he's
not too happy about the amount of reflection and glare it gets though the rest of the notebook is fantastic.
*
Below is picture comparison between matte dell monitor and xps 13 9370 bottom.
Dell LCD no reflection while xps like mirror laugh.gif

Wow, that's really glossy. Looks like they really discontinued the matte FHD screens for this generation. Mine is more like your Dell monitor.
*
QUOTE(Vanquish_08 @ Sep 16 2018, 08:18 PM)
Bro, yours is FHD or UHD? Cos the UHD has always been very glossy and reflective. But if the FHD has gone the same way, I
may have to rethink my decision as I do work outdoors a bit  bangwall.gif
*
Mine is FHD.. i did not take 4K cos I need longer battery
I don’t like bring power cable when going out coffee shop..
I only bring one power bank..
I scare 4K drain too much battery and my power bank might not last me for a day when I outing

I search review in YouTube before, I heard from YouTube say they discontinue matte FHD.
They use glossy FHD with some matte coating at outer layer..
It was not that glossy as previous 4K model.

one thing i like about dell is it warranty.
if you device over warranty, you can buy the warranty to cover again.
the warranty sometime very cheap.
3 years back, i buy before for my XPS 15 first gen, for only RM110.

currently looking for mouse, thunderbolt cable and thunder bolt laptop dock for my Dell.
what i hv in mind for mouse is Logitect MX Anywhere 2, Belkin Thunderbolt 3 and Dell TB15.
probably only get it after i sell my current monitor and get new Dell 2417HC with USB C PD LCD Monitor.

The hardware is moving more and more towards an all USB-C / Thunderbolt 3 approach from Asus, Dell and HP especially with the newer
ultrabooks. But we have yet to see proper support from peripheral manufacturers for USB-C based accessories which means we'll be stuck
with Dongle-Life for a while more.
*
basically now day all accessories should hv USB-C
USB C external drive, USB C LCD monitor, USB C to HDMI monitor, USB C external DVD Drive, USB C pen drive, USB C phone cable for android and iOS and many more..
all already available... just you need change new cable or get new stuff. no need dongle if you only hv 1 usb C like macbook 12.

Ohh cool.. Hopefully mine could last this long too haha...
if you go 4k I think you cant do light gaming dy haha.. Tho, just curious.. how long did the battery last you? you use your power bank to charge your laptop? I dont mind bringing the adapter everywhere i go tbh.. ( maybe I should had opted for the 4k ver. ? but just terribly worried that it wont last me 5 hours in classroom of nonstop spotify and coding)
*
basically last me over 12-14 hours base on normal surfing, youtubing and excel..
if on gaming, and full power, only last 4-5 hours laugh.gif

Haven't seen a good wireless mouse with USB-C interface yet (unless BT), bro! There are a few on eBay and Amazon but quality is so-so. Of course the other
way is to get a good all-in-one USB-C hub like the Dell DA300 and be done with it la ... blush.gif
*
don't like dongle even though I plan to hv Dell TB15 on my desk.
currently, I using normal BT Mouse. I change my external SSD drive cable (USB B to USB C) and change all my phone cable usb C to lightning and micro USB.
I also just sold my monitor and change to Dell P2419HC where come with USB C PD.
with that, I can plug all USB A device to my monitor.

I think its cuz my lights are up.. haha its alright
oh yeah, is it normal that my pc memory always around 50%?  with everything installed. (chrome, whatsapp, steam, spotify )
*
The backlit is not one light per key like MacBook
Thus you will feel the key is not properly light up.

Ahh chehh I thought you talking about laptop haha..
I really like how light and sleek the laptop is tho
Probably the only annoyance for me is the 8gb cuz it's hard for me as I tend to have a lot of background apps.. Whatsapp, discord, steam, chrome used up 65% dy.. Rip me.. Hahaha..

Too used to seeing low % on desktop dy haha
*
my memory usage about 45% with Google drive, steam, acestream, Dell Mobile connect and IE running to replay lowyat now

QUOTE(eugenelimys @ Sep 18 2018, 11:44 PM)
yea just received it this afternoon.. its better than expected, just a bit not used to it cuz I tend to use a 15" for a laptop, and this time decide to go for an even lighter and smaller laptop.. haha... still finding 8gb kinda like living at the edge.. haha..

the rose gold looks really nice tho.. at most if sien dy, just slap a skin on it haha..
*
it more like copper to me and very eye catching when you use outside cool2.gif

QUOTE(eugenelimys @ Sep 19 2018, 03:41 AM)
Not sure if its just me or laptop feel a bit lag la..

Sometimes when scrolling down or something, can see lag a bit.. is it due to the ram ah?
*
I not experience any lagness so far.. quite smooth to me

QUOTE(rai_fuzz @ Sep 19 2018, 11:50 AM)
XPS is the best bang for buck (though expensive a bit), Dell support is awesome as well. I have changed fan assembly, heat sink assembly & screen so far. All is well. Haha.
*
yeah, I like Dell due to service as well. sometime when you file a complain, they just come and change it even though there is no issue with your current parts laugh.gif

Steven / Eugene, are either of you guys having any noticeable coil whine on the XPS 13 9370?
Just curious since this was quite common on the 9360 models. Dell's Rose Gold is a light shade
of Copper instead of typical Rose Gold - just wish they had Rose Gold with the black trim too
*
So far, did not notice any coil whine yet.
I read comment in reddit, some say hv and some are not.
It may due to old power brick as advise by them
I using my own 60watt power brick

anyone using non dell adapter to charge the new XPS13?

I using china brand usb c PD adapter with 60W to charge my XPS13.
lately it kinda show some issue where my laptop sometime not able to charge.
as I know, the wattage wont fry my charging port since USB C PD can negotiate and draw power they require.

can we request a CONFIGURABLE spec that suits to our need when dealing directly with Dell sales person?

example, i want to buy Dell XPS 13 8gb RAM with 512GB  SSD.

Possible?
*
it only able to configure if the option is available in Dell tool.
as i know, there is no this configuration in Dell tool.
fully customize only allow for certain big purchase for certain company in Malaysia like Petronas and KWSP which i see they place PO before.
