...there are some defect on the complementary Belkin14"EVOBackpack. To solve this Dell will deviate them to Targus synergy bag.

Isn't Targus Synergy the top loading bag?

Are they trying to taichi me or what? Anyone heard/experienced anything like this before?

Damn it the estimated delivery date for my XPS 14z has changed to 2 May 2012. Previously it way 26 April 2012... bloody hell, that's more than 14 days (including weekends that is).

Received the 14z yesterday.
I am not fond of the keyboard... takes a while to get used to. I keep pressing the capslock button when I want to press 'A'.

The 1TB 5400RPM HDD feels really slow since I am used to SSD... and upgrading the storage won't be an easy task judging from the videos on youtube. sweat.gif

Transfer rate is normal, around 25MB/s - 30MB/s with a USB2.0 drive.
The system is now faster after I removed most of the crap that was pre-installed by Dell.

Hey guys... I'm on my (only one year old) Studio XPS 16, RGBLED, 7200rpm, i5-450M, ATI HD 5730...

This thing still has 2 years of warranty on it but I'm thinking what should I do now... of course I will miss the power of my current laptop (graphics) as well as its huge 16 inch screen.

If I buy a new laptop I could just give this to my brother or my mom. They don't need it, and I don't need a brand new laptop, but I might consider a new one that's only like 1.36 kg or 1.98 kg.

I can't exactly trade up because I'd be downgrading on the screen, the graphics on the larger XPS laptops aren't very very good, and all of those are expensive while I got a decent deal on this laptop (such as cheap upgrade for the screen, but because this chassis is so sold, the processor was not new and certainly not the fastest). It'd be almost the same thing, with a worse screen, lighter by only a couple hundred grams, and heck more expensive.

So I'm thinking if I should get the light XPS 13 Ultrabook or an XPS14z, more mobility, battery life.

So what are your thoughts and comments? Ultrabook or 14z worth the money (considering no/crap graphics, not a great screen, small too)? Worth the weight trade-off?

Anyone has used these laptops and can tell me about your experience?

Realistic battery life?

Thanks

Added on May 12, 2012, 7:01 pmDell Australia has similar weird marketing as Dell Malaysia...

Two versions, one with 4GB, one with 8GB RAM, both same price, except one shows a $200 discount. Strange.
