Can you try to power off your phone. If unable to power off, remove the battery.
Power on, then press and hold volume up key to enter OpenRecovery. From there choose wipe data/factory reset. See if this helps. This post has been edited by ltwvince: Feb 5 2011, 07:00 PM |

The disadvantages of using native apps2sd is your widget apps cannot be moved over since native apps2sd uses fat32 instead of the ext2 partition.
If you use other apps to force move it might give you problem as the widget will not be usable when you use your sd as removable drive. This post has been edited by ltwvince: Feb 5 2011, 11:37 PM |

@wanakin - you judge the speed by just looking at the benchmark scores?

Even though with RAM just 20+, it seems to have solved the sms issue. Might be due to local.prop's heap memory settings. Will check it out later today.
For 1.1b patch will test also later tonight. Added on February 7, 2011, 9:55 amconfirm low memory is due to heapsize settings to 28m. This post has been edited by ltwvince: Feb 7 2011, 09:55 AM |

QUOTE(~~5ive~~ @ Feb 8 2011, 03:47 AM) khal do make recommendation for 100mb of ext previously to me (as i ask for his advice) When you asked that time, only Dexter 1.1 and 1.1a version available and is correct at that point of time.I cannot recall which version or whose froyo is that, but something to do with native storage whereby apps will be store at FAT32.... Now after Dexter 1.1b updates, ext2 better off with 1gb space since it allows apps2ext. Added on February 8, 2011, 10:31 amThere are 2 support on dexter 1.1b if I'm reading it right as I've not tested yet. Apps2sd is native froyo support which move apps to fat32. Apps2ext is our normal apps2sd on 2.1 which move apps to ext2. This post has been edited by ltwvince: Feb 8 2011, 10:31 AM |

@traize
1. Download/install Terminal Emulator from market. 2. Type "su" without quotes and press enter. The prompt should change from $ to #. Meaning root success. 3. Reboot your phone and try again. It should be same. This means is permanent root. Unless you reflash your phone, you have to root it again. |

@Xjester - use titanium backup to remove unwanted system apps or delete it from /system/apps using root explorer.

Anyone here using Brightstar set? Still remember the SBF version running on the phone?
I need to send my phone for warranty. Long story short. Few days back, at first one of the LED on the side is faulty (Play/View LED) then yesterday was streaming video happily, all of the sudden phone rebooted. This is the first time sudden reboot when using dexter's froyo. Managed to get back to the homescreen but SDcard failed to mount. Power off, changed SD and still stuck at M logo boot loop. Rebooted it again then boot loop at M logo. Tried all the known method and still the same. Reflashed several times and still boot loop at M logo. After several retries on unplug battery and it managed to get into homescreen without SDcard. Plug in another SDcard and detected. Reboot again to test. Repeating at M logo boot loop again. Give up, final decision is to flash back and send warranty. * My phone battery at 80% and I can't get it to charge anymore as soon as I plug in usb cable it will boot loop at M logo. I hope I didn't bored you all with my grandma story. This post has been edited by ltwvince: Feb 15 2011, 08:56 AM |

QUOTE(bigO'lord @ Feb 21 2011, 02:45 PM) wah sifu come and visit us is ltwvince bro. hmmm let me browse thru i've posted earlier the step to flash to froyo Ok here we go the step First of all you can format your SDcard to fat32 64 bit and create another partition of 1ghz EXT3 and 32mb swap if you already have the earlier setup of fat32 ext2 and linux swap no need to reformat the sdcard. you can keep it the way it is. then download dexter froyo release (browse a few post behind you should find it ) and khal galaxyfroyo1.1 release Install instructions (based on us sbf): 1. Freshly flash your phone ( optional but recomended ) 2. root the phone ( I use Universal Androot or u can use superoneclick root provided by dexter) 3a. install OpenRecovery , use included apk. 3b. reboot phone once 4. copy the folder "nandroid" to root directory of your sdcard then copy "galaxyfroyo1.1" folder to sdcard/nandroid/openrecovery folder ( you can remove stock22 folder if you want) 5. Make sure sdcard is not attached to pc using "mass storage share" to pc. 6. Run OpenRecovery app and "install Recovery". 7. Press Recovery boot 7.a go to nandroid/restore/galaxyfroyo1.1/restore all 8. go back to main menu 9. wipe data/ factory reset in OpenRecovery 9. reboot system work like charm to me credit goes to Dexter Visit http://dext3r.komodin.org/ for more details and future updates. Khalpower for surplus of knowledge & update ITvince for regular update Progenx for manual suggestion feel free to edit and put on front page btw, my phone sudah masuk factory. now using back old phone. |

QUOTE(progenx @ Feb 21 2011, 12:06 PM) yeah i have that when i was on 2.1 but i really want 2.2 as 2.1 kept skipping my sms.. and some flaws to it.. so i go with 2.2 After upgrade to 2.2.1 SMS issue seems to be solved cause all spam SMS keep coming in. Added on February 21, 2011, 12:09 pmbtw, bro khal already applied your mod but the keyboard key fonts like so small..difficult to read. is it like that? |
