I've been in O&g nearly 4 years..since I graduated..I'm quite new in this forum / thread..might be overlooked somewhere..But I think we got only a little group among us that has more than 7 yrs in o&g..

my boss (expat) said this almost everyday to me..engineer only has two paths in their career..especially in o&g..if u are in PMT, than most possibility u'll end up as a manager / director / or leading post in managerial...If u are in design / structural / or technical side..u'll end up being a specialist..so start from our first day in career, we must choose..where we want to go..yes money is 1 thing but exp always paired with money..

just my 2 cent.. :-)

How is the environment in Kencana Petroleum? How's the remuneration package for Kencana?

Heard that the is a 1 year contract for engineers there...will they extend or offer perm after 1 year contract?

Many Thanks!

I got couple of friends working in kencana petroleum for the past few years. Thing is you need to know that under kencana petroleum they got like bestwide, HL, pinewell and many more.

But unfortunately so far I did not heard that they absorb the contract workers into permanent.

But good thing is they just join consortium with other pleyer for a new awarded project from petronas..& there is a lot of vacancy =)

dude. It is your call to follow up with them. Show your interest & don't just starring in front of your lappy waiting for an email to come. Just wait for a week, and give them a call ask for a status. And trust me, do not ask them questions like you are desperate to secure that job.

Good luck!

Since the past 1 month there were lots of vacancies posted in newspaper...good thing is most of them are operator; well known to be the highest paymaster in O&G here in Malaysia. Bad thing is with less than 7 years of exp, no chance..hahaha

guys...

got something to ask...next week I will have an interview for operator company..basically I can call this as a second interview..during the first interview (last week), it was for project engineer position...then they said it is unsuccessfull...but today they called me and said, please come for 2nd interview but the position is slightly diff...it is for project engineer coordinator...based on my 5 eyars exp, I am a project engineer, and currently working as a project coordinator..but when I heard this position, I just said to myself " WTH, what's the diff?"..I know waht is project engineer, project coordinator or project engineer/coordinator...but never heard about this post "project engineer coordinator"..

anyone could give your advise?
Thanks.
