I don't wanna whine, but I have a 1st class master's PE degree from Heriot Watt + UTP, but still jobless for months.

Kids, remember "networking" is the most important thing.
Results + paper + achievements = secondary. True story bro.

AFAIK, that master course is expensive! You didnt make any networking with your coursemate? Some of them must be coming from the industry.

Try open a Linkedin account. From there you may connect with headhunters/man power services company.

Murphy is in deep sh1t with Petronas since they screwed up the Kikeh reservoir so bad, it's probably damaged forever. They wanted to produce 120K barrel per day with 12-14 wells and that high rate has introduced massive sand problem and I think half the wells have been shut in .... this is what happens when you let cowboys run the show .... balls too big for their own good.

Apa mau buat. They come here to make fast money. Saudi apa macam brader? All good there? tongue.gif

The term extremely good results killed me hahaha. Anyway, money is really a factor here so I guess I have to no choice but to study at other cheaper college (nottingham will cause a bomb). So in that case, where to build up networking ?  brows.gif  brows.gif

There are many ways for build networking. One is through internship. Other than that you may email your CV to those manpower company. I see one of my friends did this way. He start working with NOV brandt. Now after three years he is at Oman with a tubing company making 5 figures. He also has a lots of contact in various companies. Just my 2 cents

I heard from Shell HR that they can afford to pay less to fresh hires and still get the headcount they want. The new hires get about 2.7k/mth less than the previous batches. Please thank the local govt policies of "everyone can get a degree". It is also noted by some of the people I know working there that the new fresh hires are less confident and definitely of lower caliber compared to their older picks- suspect due to local education and mingling.

Experienced hires will have the same package; if previously was competitive... it should be the same now.
