if you want to stick to electrical, i dont think you have many options. FYI, i studied electrical too for my degree. the only options i got in o&g for electrical were: maintenance, instrumentation and control. dont know of any certs for electrical in o&g, maybe others can help you on this.

i got myself ISO 9001 and Internal Audit certs so that helped me land a job as a quality engineer.

thx for ur reply . i assume the position u mentioned here is all on-field and off-shore related , right ? as i heard , high pay is because of the allowance ppl get when going for off-shore tongue.gif

or should i ask , can the on-desk job , like doing the detail electrical design for o&g, those kind of things .... stil able to get high pay ?

i now working for a construction m&e consultancy , is there any position related to the exp i have ?

it all depends on which company you join bro. if u get big bucks company, u get big bucks pay. if u get cheapskate company, u get cheapskate pay.
as far as i can see, the oil n gas industry is losing its shine. the recent instability of oil price and availability of cheap labour has caused pay to become lower for newbies. only the old guys with lots of experience still can demand crazy high pay.

i do agree, crazy money comes with exp. but the true is that, even the "lowest" pay for freshie in o&g, is stil one of the "highest" pay for freshie compared to other industrial ....
