Thanks for you reply. Any idea whats the working culture in kencana petroleum then ?
Also, I would like to know what is the future prospect to be involved in installation, commissioning and testing for E&I (kencana) compared to design and project handling (vendor side)? ..
I do think that E&I engineer position will involve alot of travelling compared to design and project handling job .
any comments on this?

One problem about kencana IMHO is the HR, no time off and 10 days annual leave, and other benefit is not good enough compared to other similar company. i don't know whether this have changed, but according to my friends there it is still the same even after they transferred to solaris. dunno if they still work on saturday.
in pinewell if as a field engineer should be mostly in field like offshore/shipyard, prospect wise should be good as most of the seniors will go for office position after 5-10 years, so there will always be opportunity for young engineers.
design/engineering will be much different and most of the time will only stayed in office except for maybe acceptance test and vendors visit, and also if after completion of project got problem at site than you will have the chance to go
i was from the design background but now doing something diff - still related to o&g
err.. lovebatt... u did ruby isn't it? hehehe.... i was there during the start of the project, but stayed in kl at the design consultant office. wonder if we know each other?
