Project Engr don't really do what real engineer do.. not much developed on technical side (software, troubleshooting and etc2). More on do whatever necessary to bring on profit to the company through projects. any advise?? jumped twice and still landed on the same role..

QUOTE(jasontks1987 @ Apr 30 2011, 11:27 PM) Hi all, i have been wondering for quite a long time. I considered myself as a recent graduate who have 1 year experience in construction field. Tried my best to apply for a position in O&G field for long time, and all end up nothing. I was told that O&G companies normally don't hire people with no experience in this field unless you have a distinct education record? Some of the companies prefer Malay or who graduated from UTP, does it truth? Currently still looking for an opportunity, hope all of you guys can kindly advise me what should i do. I appreciate a lot for all of your helps. Thanks a lot. as a grad from outside UTP, I do agree with your statement, but it's nearly correct. It depends on which company do you ask for.. is it Kencana? Tanjung? if you find from these local companies, yes you are almost correct. They employed mostly from UTP/UTM. It'll be more correct if you say, they employ base on recommendation/ alumni University (ex-students). That's what I've been told by my bosses. I'm lucky as somehow related to these UTPian. My advise, try to find MNC Oil&Gas. The least, join the consultants ie, Mustang and Sime.
