Hey industrial experts, I'm thinking of developing a career in both technical and management. I have a good MEng degree in Mech. Eng. and have been working outside of the engineering field for 1.5 years and now thinking of going back to my passion.
I would like to ask which of the following career paths is better in terms of pay and professional development?
A) From Technical/Design/Engineering Consultant to EPCIC Project Engineer B) From EPCIC Project Engineer to Consultant
I'm looking at specifically offshore structure engineering and petrochemical plant engineering industries. Thanks guys.

I have another question to add onto my previous one regarding career ladders. If I can go straight to being a project engineer without the need to go through the technical consulting phase, would that be inferior? How difficult is it to get a project engineer role without any technical experience but with some foundational knowledge?

Hi guys. I've got some questions about Shell's employment scheme.
1) Does Shell recruit graduates all year round?
2) Say I would like to apply for Shell Singapore as a graduate (but I actually have a year of experience in 2 NOCs). What are the chances that they will pass my application over to Shell Malaysia instead? Would applying in Singapore have a lower rate of success?

I have a specific question for those who got into Shell.
Hi, guys. I'm in the middle of finishing up my online application form. There is this section that requests for me to highlight additional details relevant to my application.
The issue is that this request is very broadly defined. I have a few approaches of filling this section: 1) Emphasize on my professional experience which I intend to use as competitive leverage. 2) Provide additional information not covered in professional experience and education background, such as external initiatives and activities. 3) Describe my key traits based on the C.A.R.T. criteria with recent examples.
I'd really like to be able to get a foot in the door, so I'm taking my time to check with you veterans. Please point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Sounds like someone from Maintenance and Integrity Execution. It's basically telling technicians how to execute maintenance work, identify when materials can be procured, telling maintenance scheduling teams how long the execution work will take, etc. prospect I don't know.
